Saturday Night at the Beacon

Surprised that nobody has mentioned how strong Gregg's singing was during stand back....
Very strong, IMO, especially after everything from the last two years...
And yeah....from the upper balcony---I saw Gregg walk off...
And yeah.....I thought he was done for the night.....
Band had a conference without the bassist---(Oteil was in farmers chair) and came back with the kitchen song...
Damn I'm going to miss this band...

I don't think Gregg played a note during Liz Reed. If he did, he left the stage during the intro. It was a long break - and if he left in the middle of a song that kind of makes the same point: it was unexpected and nobody seemed to know what to expect after he went.

I bought tix for Saturday and the final night. After the March run,and seeing Mountain Jam, I had set thebar pretty damned low. So happy to say that it far surpassed my expectations. Even GA's multiple missed cues on Stromy Monday didn't takeaway from me being happy to have it in the set. Speaking of missed cues, doesn't Gregg have a TelePrompTer built into the B3 aka Elton, Steve Tyler, Ozzy, etc? I know he has sheet music he gets delivered as the setlist changes, but I thought he also had a prompter.
Anyway, as everyone reported, the guitars and bass ruled. Except the VERY misplaced Dusk Til Dawn, a wonderful setlist. I loved Come On In my Kitchen!!! That backstage huddle was something you NEVER see any longer. It seemed like they were calling Kitchen on the fly, and talking thru a quick rundown of arrangement and solos. If that were the case, that's fucking old school awesome!
Finally, any scoop on how they were allowed to play Til 11:45? NYC stage unions has always had super strict rules on stage being dark by 11. Otherwise you are fined crazy prices as minutes tick by. They must've worked out a deal with promoter and union. Did they play past 11 any previous nights this run?
What is the talk I kept hearing Saturday about the Bros doing 3 full sets on Tuesday?

I think you are thinkin midnight...
In the six years I've been doin the beacon, it has always ended between 1130 and midnight....

Yeah Gregg leaving at the very beginning of IMOEL was very disappointing. You need that B3 !!

Before the show, we ate where we always do and both Marc and Warren were there with there families and having a blast chatting to all in the place.
