Every year we hear about counterfeit tickets being sold at the Beacon, last night I experienced it first hand. I didnt buy it and found a real ticket later on from a solid guy . What to watch for
The guy said it was for face value , first red flag. He told me to follow him because of the cops. I followed him two blocks from the Beacon because of all the cops. He called his boy and said he would be right back. I already knew I wasn't buying it but I wanted to see what he had. He came back with a fake ticket..I can see right away it was fake. It wasn't as long as a real ticket and the paper felt thicker than a real ticket. I said come with me to have it scanned..of course he wouldnt .I told him it was fake and walked away.
I then went the Ale House and another guy came in and asked if anyone needed tickets. He said loge face value 250.00 I dont remember face value being 250.00 He said he would be sitting up there too, and that there are no tickets on stub hub.He was talking really fast , seemed a little nervous.I was thinking about it when another guy was looking at me shaking his head no don't do it. He was another scammer.
I saw one girl crying outside the Beacon because she was ripped off. I saw two guys tell a cop that they were just sold fake tickets and pointed the guys out, i told the police they tried to rip me off too all the police do is shooo them away. The scammers just circle the block and come right back to the Beacon. They have no conscious. I lucked out and bought a ticket from a guy who was asking the police the laws about scalping because he didnt want to get arrested. I heard he conversation and asked if I could buy it . Becareful of the scam artists, they were all over the place lat night.

Fast talking scalpers must be avoided.

Guys,
Thanks for posting all this. I am (was) supposed to meet this guy Keith this afternoon at 5:45 at Union Square to buy his tickets. Yes, at $160 each it is too good to be true. Thanks for saving me $320 bills. I still would loooove to see them but probably not at 300-400 a ticket! thanks again.

Anyone offering a pair for tonight or tomorrow would almost have to be a crook. The tickets for the last two shows were sold as one show, one pair. If someone looks like a fan (and I hate to be any sort of bigot but you can tell) it should be simple - ask them to hold the two tickets until they are scanned at the door and you can exchange the money for the ticket right there.

I know Allman Brother's Band fans who are young, old, black, white, male, female, corporate executives, yuppies, hippies, rich folks, paupers ... the gamut. I have been a fan since the earliest days. I used to think long hair, jeans - the grunge look made a fan (or a hippy) instantly identifiable. This system has proven to be fallible on many occasions.

There is no uniform for an Allman Brothers fan!

Lastly, even though having been skunked on tickets and bearing bitterness towards scalpers - I really hate that FANS (whatever they look like) are getting ripped off by @$$holes. At this point, I'd recommend using only "licensed" scalpers like TicketsNow and StubHUb.

If you're fortunate enough to find real tickets - enjoy the shows!

I WISH I had taken pics of the three known crooks I saw. So we all could have seen who to watch out for. I know there are many more than three but it may have helped
