How do you pronounce "Les Brers"?

Blind Willie McTell.
Warren and Gregg both doing vocals
I'll get right to it...

Feel like breaking up somebody's home
I'll get right to it...

How do you pronounce "Les Brers"?
Roughly, it's "lay brears." Like bears.

Dreams. ... Yessssss!
I'll get right to it...

Who's playing slide? Boy what a night

Did somebody say Whipping Post?! Yeah! Play All Night!
I'll get right to it...

That is a heckuva good set list so far!

Is that the end of the second set?

Boynton Bro:

it's a play on words: " Less Brers in A Minor "
not meant to be pronounced correctly

Encore
No One To Run With
I'll get right to it...

I'll get right to it...

??????
"Les Brers" is French for "The Brothers"

It was never meant to be 'french' from the interviews I read...

I think that show was nearly flawless. It will take a more discerning fan than me to pick it apart.
I'm still gathering my thoughts, but I will say, Warren did all the heavy lifting on "Dreams". Slide and lead guitar. I will not be surprised if they play the song tomorrow with Derek driving.
Oteil is other worldly. His work on "That's What Love Will Make You Do" was stunning. I heard John Kahn play that tune a lot with the Jerry Garcia Band and I can't thing of a time, ever that Kahn was as dexterous, fluid and melodic as Oteil played tonight. Those three players just run the front of house.
I don't think they could reach those high, highs of the night without that phenominal rhythm section.
Gregg was in great voice. He seemed energetic.
I'm so happy I was here.

thanks

Solid 1st set, but I was not overwhelmed. That's What Love was great, w/ a nice Oteil solo in there.
Thought Gregg sounded better, as in exceptionally good, in the 2d set. Les Brers went on forever, and is one of my favorites and hard to come by, so I was already happy w/ the 2d set.
Superb Blind Willie, and another one that does not come along too often. I love the Warren-Gregg verse trading thing. My favorite song introduced by this group. Feel Like Breaking always kills, but this one was for the ages. I have seen many things in my 40 shows, but never Warren dancing! Marc's groove and well-deserved attention had Mr Haynes bopping away for a bit.
A Warren Dreams was especially welcome and great. I agree w/ Billyblastoff, expect a Derek one tomorrow. Fine w/ me! I have seen Derek be pretty intense, but never more so than in WP. Tearing it up just got taken to a new level.
Fantastically crafted setlist, the show built and built to one higher plane after another. They indeed are going out on a high note.
Tomorrow I expect unique things and many feelings. But tonight I got as good a "regular show" from this iteration as I ever have.

Yeah Brock I think your word - solid - is a perfect representation of tonight's show.
I urge folks not to read into that there were not spectacular hights. The "Dreams" and "Whipping Post" were both pushed as far as they could be pushed. But the musicians doing the pushing are simply the best at what they do.
I was taken to great heights. There were a couple times in the first set where I was on the verge of being overwhelmed.
I was never, not for a moment underwhelmed.
My high expectations were met.

Just back from an amazing night. Simply did NOT want it to end. Second set was spectacular in my book. What a difference from last Wednesday. Brilliant, dignified and mind bending.......I left there in awe.

AWE-some full color video/photo collage during encore of so much Duane and Berry (and even some of Mr. Betts -- didn't know he ever played a double neck) with Derek and Warren juxtaposed. AWE-stounding. Would LOVE a video of that ... blueray coming of these last 2 nights? ... please? ... pretty please?

"One More thing I Wanna Say Right Here"! Yea, Yea!
Killer Wilson Pickett!

"Les Brers" is French for "The Brothers"
Did you stop French at O Level, Jim?!!!
French for "The Brothers" is "Les Frères."
"Brers" is Creole/ Cajun argot for brothers, as I understand it (they didn't teach Creole or Cajun at Eastwood High!). Think of Brer Rabbit. The correct pronunciation is "Lay Brerr" (silent "s").
First I've heard of there being an intended play on words.

What an awesome setlist....saw WP on YouTube...brought so many emotions,tears...beautiful...

Great reviews of the show!
Les Brers:
LES - the French article (les = THE)
BRERS - Think of those southern, Uncle Remus characters -b'rer fox et al. "B'rer" - southern negro dialect for BROTHER
so, Les B'rers - sort of a French twist on southern negro (African American) folk lore.
By the way: "Uncle Remus" was a literary invention of Joel Chandler Harris - who borrrowed (plagiarized or stole) these stories from the African Americans that worked on the farms that he grew up on.
But please - return to the recaps of the show!

This is the second time in the run they skipped over High Cost.

Did it go past midnight?

This is the second time in the run they skipped over High Cost.

What's with High Cost getting cut again? That's the 2nd time this run
Hopefully they're saving one of the best songs they've ever written for tonite!
