10/24/14 Rockin' Horse - Trouble No More

Two words about Friday night - True. Gravity. Anybody find a video yet? Thanks.

My wife, my daughter (her first Beacon show), and myself were in the house Friday night! It was definitely the show of the run so far and a great way to end it all for one who climbed on the bus for shows in 1971! First of all I didn't think they played true gravity, I thought it was Kind of Bird and but it was True Gravity! the energy in the house and on stage was outstanding and bar as far as playing was extremely high. Gregg's voice in the house mix was strong and loud, we'll see once I get the Instant live if it transfers to disc as I heard it Fri night, sometimes it does, sometimes not! I know this, at the end of it all he appeared to be exhausted, and rightfully so! The dreams was awesome, both guitarist took solos! the blue Sky was a pleasant surprise and warren sang and laid down a great extended 2nd solo. The Done somebody Wrong to begin 2nd set is may favorite personal 2nd set starter. Trouble No More had all the power and the glory of those versions that the original line-up used lay down! The 2nd set closer, You don't Love me was very close to a carbon copy of the Fillmore east version until they took it into soul serenade and Derek just took us to church on that one. After that set closer, you knew they could only end it with Whipping Post. but boy what a whipping post - Warren teasing My Favorite Things in his solo -> into a full version of Will The Circle Be Unbroken" with the whole house singing along ( this happened a lot fri night!) -> into Gregg's soul-wrenching wail to end the night. House Lights came on and Little Martha playing on thru the PA system, I told my family be still and let's just listen to this as probably won't get to experience it again like this! We talked about getting tics for Saturday night's show and we all three said - nope it could not have ended with a better setlist and performance for three true fans. then we were off to BB Kings for Col Bruce & friends and also Lions on the Moon. Still smiling at my keyboard here 3 days later! Can't wait for HTN to deliver this one thru the mail! That's my 2 cents!
