MT 31 - The Very Lazy Thread - 2023-2026 Version
Going to see The Turnpike Troubadors tonight at an amphitheatre. If you've never heard of them, think Stee Earle and Randy Rogers (if you know him). Country rock I guess. My wife loves them, so I got her a present.
So send me your best shows!

Have a good time tonight! Likely my next show will be Gov’t Mule/Joe Bonamassa double bill with GM opening. However it’s not until August and is outdoors which could be beastly hot. In which case I will not be going!

Great show. They are a six-piece group, high guitar and fiddle use. The band that opened for them was really good. Apparently, they are an up-and-comer. I felt very old at the show. It's definitely a young fanbase. I must say, the young lasses at these shows are quite impressive! At one point in the show when the brand had a break between songs and a section of guys up front started chanting U.S.A. U.S.A! The soccer team just won.

What a great show last night - Doobie Brothers and Santana were really good. Big crowd that was really into it. Big surprise (to me anyways) was that Santana's wife is his drummer. She was amazing, and after the show we found out she is 66 - and she played nonstop the whole show.
It was great getting to hang out at the show with Chicagofan, TopDroog, and Barry Warren - who was in town from England. It was a fun night!

Just get half a dozen scantily clad handmaidens with palm leaves to fan you during the show ... I'm sure you'll be okay ...

Good morning all.
happy Friday. Gearing up for a busy summer. Taking a cruise starting in Iceland, visiting Norway, Scotland, and England.
After returning I’m headed to Ohio and KY for an aviation museum and Bourbon trail visit at end of July.
2 weeks later I’ll be in Key West for a week. Should be an interesting visit as it’s my first time there. I’ve heard there’s quite a lot of sights to see
Howdy Cuj! Looks like you're going to be busy!

Cujo! Sounds like you will be busy! Enjoy!
Not much going on here - trying to get some golf in between all the storms ... at least my garden is really growing.
My town has a free show tonight with 3 cover bands - Foreigner, Fleetwood Mac and Heart - plan on going for at least part of it.
Gooooooooooooooooooooood 'ol National Peaches "N" Cream Day!

Finally got to play 2 rounds of golf this week. Lots of free music in my area this weekend - hope the weather is good enough to go. Next week looking like 90's all week.

I sent you a message on Facebook. If you have time and are in the area when you go bourbon hunting give me a call and we'll get some food
Happy Friday all.
its nice to have a busy summer. Last time I did this much traveling I went down under to Australia for 7 weeks.
Next year I’ll be recouping even though I’ll have almost 6 weeks off.
Currently I don’t have any concerts to go to. May need to change that. Last show I went to was Mule with TTB in Mass.
Love having the Nugs app and Bluetooth hearing aids. Can listen to music without bothering anyone around me. Be in my own world.
Bill, I’ll be in touch and hope to catch up with you. Would be great to see you.
My Bourbon Trail is the path I've worn in the carpeting to the cabinet with my Buffalo Trace....

My longtime boss was from Templeton, Iowa, home of Templeton Rye. During prohibition it was smuggled to Chicago and Capone's crew, supposedly his favorite. Some locals revived the brand and as a gift when I retired my boss gave me a dated/batch #/barrel #/bottle # jug that was already 10 years old. I still have it sealed looking for the right occasion to enjoy it. Locals say that it's not the original bootlegger's recipe but who the heck knows? When I finally enjoy it nor will I care.

Played golf today - was it hot! Luckily the course had a lot of shade, and we parked in the shade whenever possible. Glad we had an 8:30 tee time ...

I don't play a lot of golf but when I do I usually come in around 77. Any warmer, I stay home!
