The Allman Brothers Band

Newsletter – Peach-O-Gram 10/20/2007

Hey there sweet family,

We deeply regret having to share the sad news that Neil Grant, “Tattooneil”, died late Thursday afternoon near Seattle. Neil was one of the Peach Corps’ old-timers, joining the extended family over 10 years ago, on the original site, as number 424. As GreatScott wrote in the Allman Brothers Band’s guest book (at www.allmanbrothersband.com), Neil was truly unique, “a very kind and gentle soul. And it is always sad when the world loses one of those, ’cause the world needs a whole lot more of them.”

Neil’s daughter, Jessica Grant, has set up an account to help offset the cost of his final arrangements. A direct paypal link can be found at the top of her myspace page:

Neil had no life insurance and any donations will be greatly appreciated.

TopDroog is auctioning off an original, long-sleeve Captain Skipper Remasters tie-dyed shirt (X-Large), given to him by Skip himself, with all proceeds going to help Jessica with the expenses she faces at this difficult time. The auction is at:

Our hearts and prayers are with Neil’s family, immediate and enormously extended, as his journey continues.

On a much happier note, Gregg Allman’s Fall/Winter Tour is off to a great start. As Ruthelane wrote on Gregg’s guest book (at www.greggallman.com), “FABULOUS SHOW in Hammond last night. Gregg’s voice sounds as powerful as ever. Close to a full house. The crowd loved Gregg and they let him know it. It was exciting. The musicians with him are top notch. Do not miss this show! Drive, fly, walk, hitchhike, whatever it takes. But don’t miss it! It was a rip roarin’ good time. Gregg Allman Tour 2007 has got it going on!”
