If the NSA had stopped the Boston Bombers or any of these other so called terrorist here in the USA, I might be able to buy into the NSA spying on every Amerikan, but they have not. I am pretty sure those kids used cell phones and email when planning the bombings. How did the NSA let them slide through the system? It seems as though this program really doesn't work.

Don't worry though, it's all for your safety.

“The people can always be brought to the bidding of their leaders. All you have to do is tell them that they are in danger of being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger.” Hermann Goering -

If you really care, at least call your Senator.

CREDO action
We may be about to stop the PATRIOT Act. Make a call right now.
It appears increasingly likely that the Senate doesn't have the votes to reauthorize the PATRIOT Act – but the vote is likely to happen tomorrow and it will be very close. Make a call and urge your senators to sunset the PATRIOT Act.

Take action now ?

Something incredible is happening: Congress will likely vote tomorrow on whether to extend the worst abuses of the PATRIOT Act – and it looks like civil liberties advocates like you and me might actually win the vote and sunset section 215 of the PATRIOT Act!

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell has called for votes on two different bills that would reauthorize section 215 of the PATRIOT Act. We must defeat both of them and force a sunset on June 1.

Call the Senate: Oppose both bills to reauthorize the PATRIOT Act. Click here for a sample script and the number to call.

One bill is Sen. McConnell’s two-month “clean” extension of PATRIOT Act section 215. The other bill is the USA FREEDOM Act, a dangerous fake-reform bill backed by our spy agencies that will reauthorize section 215 of the PATRIOT Act for more than four years.

Nobody expected this to happen. But a filibuster on Wednesday by Rand Paul forced Majority Leader McConnell to delay a vote on the PATRIOT Act at least until Saturday.

Because the House just left for recess yesterday, and may not be in session to consider bills until after the PATRIOT Act expires on June 1, this means that it may be possible to sunset some of the worst abuses of the PATRIOT Act.

The choice is clear and simple: Senators are either for mass surveillance or they’re against reauthorization of the PATRIOT Act in any form including the USA FREEDOM Act. We’re about to see whether our senators are going to side with the Constitution and the American people or with our nation’s unaccountable and out-of-control surveillance agencies. Please make a call today and urge yours to let the PATRIOT Act expire.

Call the Senate: Sunset the PATRIOT Act expire. Click the link below for a sample script and the number to call:

Thank you for taking action.

Really like the Goering quote as this is exactly what the Bush Administration used to get everyone on board to invade Iraq.

This sums up my feeling on the Patriot Act

"Those who would give up Essential Liberty to purchase a little Temporary Safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety." attributed to Ben Franklin

Yes, this is what they used to invade Iraq and pretty much bankrupt America just like they did to the Russians when they invaded Afghanistan.

You do know that Obama renewed the Patriot Act? Right?

Did you have the same views when it came up for renewal the last two times?

Meet the new boss, same as the old boss.

Yup I knew he did this and I was not happy about it but then again there has never been a President whose policies I completely agreed with. Even those I vote d for. It is the reality of life.

Interesting the GOP led Senate blocked an extension to the Patriot Act led by Rand Paul. I am intrigued by Paul as at times he seems centrist then he supports issues that make him seem very right wing.
