Why do Americans think Trump will win despite being behind in the polls?

But hey, you talk about Bidens mental capacity while Trump thinks George Washington secured the airports during the Revolutionary War, accuse Biden of sexual assult while Trump has a long list of accusers, talk about Biden plagiarizing while Trump plagiarized 20 pages of his fake university's textbook from another author, and do we really need to talk about Trump's long history of lying, bullying, and not understanding boundaries?
This is the argument in a nutshell, the best guy the Dems can throw at the President is just as guilty.....
But he is not Trump!

I could go on for days...
We know. You've been going on for years. Days would be a relief at this point.
If you don't like it, JUST WALK AWAY. I know you are hurtin for some Skydog but Im not interested, pick your fights elsewhere.

Not even close to being as guilty. Why better moral character and a lot smarter.

Whatever - you gotta admit you would rather hang out with the damn yankee liberal hippies here and have fun arguing than spend five minutes in a conservative bunch and you know it! I doubt you all are cozying up with your tribe on the Charlie Daniels site or raising hell on the Nugent site. Fact is you guys can't stand conservatives. lol
No, there is no "Whatever"...either you are a troll or you are not and evidenced by your inability to practice what you preach..(In your own words, quoted above) you are a Troll

I hope you lose everything you have
Maybe you can get Trump to autograph your crappy git-tar
Posts like these have rightfully resulted where they belong - banned
Enjoy the music stuff you post on AG, esp that Taj clip
These posts are a far cry from that, to put it mildly

Well, certainly a lot of folks have bought in and completely thrown in with and completely sold their soul to The Trumpster Ideology???
How is this any different than those who've "bought in and completely thrown in with and completely 'sold their souls'" to the Liberal ideology?
What the Fuck is the "Liberal ideology"? explain that. If you support trump you support someone who lies with every word out of his mouth, is a con-man who ran a scam university, stole from his own charity, refused to pay his sub contractors after they delivered a quality job on his properties etc. and has no redeeming qualities whatsoever. this is what you respect because, he's not Hillary.

Quite probably those who follow the Democratic Party with a cult like fervor, no matter how distant the planks of the party platform are to reality. Those will lie, cheat, destroy the Constitution, and deceive to achieve their goals.
Strange. Your first sentence refers to the Democratic party, while your second sentence seems to describe the Republican party.
There are times it could go either way. Just that right now, my opinion is about the Dems.

...Dead show harumphing at the stupid dancers...
Glad to provide entertainment if that is how we are perceived.

He is not Trump" Yep. Joe Biden is just and old bully who can't seem to remember where he is, what he has said, lies about his resume, is a plagiarist, has been accused numerous times of sexual assault, does not understand the physical boundaries of his constituents and more than likely will find every excuse in the book not to debate....But you respect him, because he is not Trump...
See how that works?
Dude nailed it!
I've been reading the WP threads and all I see is hate. From my perspective you all KNOW Biden can't win this election and it seems to be making you all crazy.

Past polls have been wrong.
I can't help but wonder what the right/wrong percentages are
The accuracy of the current polls won't be known until November
Fairly obvious
They're really not useful to voters.
Yet they are always the standard used by the Candidates when addressing the public, the media and people who look to them to re-enforce their hopes and beliefs.

Sounds like a real bummer for you ! I've been seeing a lot of upbeat wit and lively banter, and some sarcasm and more serious sparring, but hate, none since the captain threw the trolls overboard.
Not a bummer for me at all. I don't hate our President. I kind of like him. You left the most important part of my comment out though. you know, the part that bothers you. I fixed it.

With the corona concerns nationwide, social distancing and the predicted second wave of it in the fall campaigning as usual with the road tours meeting constituents and their babies isn't likely. This election will be media based and you all know how the media feels about President Trump. On top of that Mike Bloomberg former NYC Mayor who Trump gave the moniker of mini Mike, donated 250 million to Biden's campaign, and recently George Soros remarked that he wanted to see Trump destroyed.
Some think you can't stop the Trump Train. Since he is already President he is emboldened more than ever to stay in office.
It will be interesting but he does have supporters. They were with him then and will be with him again. That's why I think he will win.

Well, Trump certainly has lots of supporters and they are as loyal to him as members of any cult are to their leader. They will show up and they will vote. On the other hand, more than half of America dislike Trump and Biden doesn't have a cult following. So, the only question is who shows up at the polls in November? We know the Republicans are doing everything possible to suppress the vote. If they are successful, than Trump wins. The more people show up in the swing states, the better for Biden. The older voters in Florida have turned to Biden over Trump. If they vote than it is over for Trump. Trump can't win without Florida...period.

I nor, ally don’t agree with absolute statements but pretty sure Trump loses Florida he is toast. He could still be toast if winning Florida. I don’t like to think along those terms because I always think it is possible he loses a state like a Florida but what if he flips Virginia and a Minnesota?
Each side has their base and lock-step voters. They don’t determine elections. Trump needs voters outside his base which I think will be difficult for him to attract and depend on.
I read some posts on this forum about fears in the 2004 election and transfer of power. Bush was no dictator and his supporters were not extremists - not even close yet some feared he would do whatever it took to stay in power. But this time....I think we are in for a fight no matter who wins. Can you imagine the outrage if Trump wins? People will be outright apocalyptic - I mean more than they already are. And you think the relatively small number of potential trouble makers backing Trump are going to go silently? I think both sides could riot when they lose and no matter who loses the election results will be drawn out and contested.

...all I see is hate...
Not hate. Deep disappointment and deep embarrassment. Trump is a thug. Trump is petty.
Trump is refusing to host Obama for the traditional Presidential Portrait Unveiling at the WH. It's a tradition. Obama hosted George W. Bush in 2012; Bush hosted Bill Clinton in 2004; Clinton hosted George H.W. Bush in 1995; and the elder Bush hosted Ronald Reagan in 1989. Michelle Obama went out of her way to make it "perfect" for the Bush's, setting a long table so their extended family could join the luncheon, and having them being served by the same butlers who attended to the Bush's for years in the upstairs residence.
He $h!t$ on the Constitution and traditions daily.

So lets take a look at what has happened in Virginia in recent years. It has gone from a red to a purpleish / blue state to a blue state for all intensive purposes.
Lets look at the numbers. Both US Senators are Democrats. In the 2018 midterms the US House members flipped from GOP to Dems 7 to 4. The governor, LT gov, and AG are all Democrats. The state legislature is controlled by Dems in both houses. In addition, in the last presidential election Trump lost to the right wingers' best scapegoat, Hillary Clinton.
So I really don't know why you'd mention the possibility of Trump flipping Virginia or what your reasoning on that is. It's not happening.

We both agree that a Trump will have an uphill challenge.
I do wonder about a Virginia. How energized might people be to push back against a controversial Governor (guns, abortion)?
Hillary did win, but I recall it being closer than expected and that was with a Virginian on the ticket.

I have said several times that the 2018 midterms were a referendum on Trump. He said he was on the ballot. Look at the results. 2018 portends 2020. Trump will not win Virginia and will probably have to fight harder in gimme states previously seen as red.
I'm not seeing this as a close election. The charity challenge remains open to any Trump believers. Unless he can supress votes, he will be toast.

I don't see any chance of Virginia going to Trump. Virginia is turning more blue every year in the same manner that Missouri is turning more red by the year. In fact, I don't see Trump winning any states he didn't win last time, other than a longshot of winning Nevada or NH.
Of the states he won last time, Florida, Pennsylvania, Wisconsin, Michigan, Arizona, and North Carolina are all in play, and I will be shocked if at least half of those don't flip. Biden seem like the kind of candidate that the Midwest and Florida votes could get behind. Although I would say it is not probable, it's within the realm of possibility that Ohio could flip, and an outside shot of Texas and Georgia. That's a lot of states for Trump to protect.

I’m not predicting it, just wondering about it (VA).
I expect at least 2 out of 3 MI, PA and WI to go blue again.
What about Minnesota?
I know there have been some stories and recent trends about a Texas, but Texas isn’t going blue.

Virginia has gotten to the state it is in due to people moving in from D.C., and those now working in the DC area that can't afford the high cost of living there.
There are also those who have said Virginia is the "experiment" for Dems to move into a state, help change the legislative makeup, and get laws changed to their agenda.
It kind of makes sense when you look at the type laws the new legislature pushed through at the first session.
Mostly anti-firearms laws, down to closing private gun ranges.

It's pretty clear now that McConnell doesn't think Trump is going to be re-elected. He's been asking conservative judges to retire early so they can pack the courts with younger conservative judges with the anticipation that this will be their last chance for a while. The smell of desperation is clear.

Why do Americans think Trump will win despite being behind in the polls?
Because he was behind in the polls in '16
Democrats have learned nothing from that loss
Biden does not have half of the intellect of HC
We are more polarized than ever
Take a look at this message board, having a conversation is next to impossible once anyone admits they are a Trump supporter.
It is so easy to believe you are going to win when the other side wants nothing to do with being chastised.
