In this case though Big Pappy is a high profile person so there will be alot of looking into this. From looking at the tape too, the guy is sittin at a high top and get plugged from behind in a non lethal shot, so this is not a legit hit, I would think. Maybe some scum looking for street cred.

What a bizarre thing to say, generalizing very different Caribbean nations and cases. They do solve crimes there, there you know.

Also, I'm not sure your application of "Third World" country is quite correct here. If you mean it was neutral during the Cold War, you are correct, but no one uses that term since the Cold War ended. If you mean Aruba is a developing country, you are mostly wrong. Aruba is part of the Netherlands and quite economically sound. The Dominican Republic's economy is the strongest in the Caribbean.

Lots going on in the DR these days. Stories about all the tourists dying suddenly are very weird.

Now the Ortiz thing. Who knows the reason--will probably come out but this was not random shooting. People are very different to the public so who knows what goes on in their private lives.

Everyone loved Ortiz, even me who is a big Yankee fan like and respected Ortiz and he was a Yankee killer and amazing hitter who did it cleanly from what I have read.

I read there was a guy near Papi that someone had a paid hit out on. From what I read, it seems odd that someone would have mistaken Papi for this other guy. Plus, wouldn't most people in the D.R. know who Papi is?

He definitely is hard to miss (Big Papi) Makes you wonder if it was truly random. When Mickey Mantle had his liver transplant the doctors discovered a tumor (which would have precluded going forward.) They claimed it was too late to stop when they did.

Like any red blooded American Doc would let the Mick die. Like anyone in the DR can't recognize Big Papi
