Whats Inflamatory Rhetoric

Is it personal attacks or political exaggeration?

That is a question that US and global courts at all levels have been deciding for years going back to English law in the 17th century & even further in France and Greece. It's not something that can easily be answered in a discussion forum. If it were, free speech lawyers & 1st Amendment constitutional scholars wouldn't exist each making millions every year. Individual countries and states may have specific laws so the answer depends upon where that speech is made.
There are literally dozens of books and law journal articles that have been written in the last five years that generally explain what speech is protected and cite cases that involve the speaker's use of platforms and social media. Google "inflammatory rhetoric" & you'll get a list of the latest books and articles. Read them if you truly want to understand what is currently considered inflammatory, why & where.
Probably the most succinct answer is from John Stewart Mills (1859): "The mark of a free society is that we restrain ourselves."

Great answer! Then again, you could just ask BoytonBrother.

Ah - long time since I've heard JSM's name mentioned. I remember reading a good bit about utilitarianism in econ courses. His ideas seemed to cross over several subject areas.

There's a thought.........

Free speech means the right to shout "THEATER!" in a crowded fire.

What about some of your frequently used terms - Crooked Hillary and Sword Swallower? Will they make your blood pressure go up? After all they're just boogeymen targets, right?

The language spirited but its political free speech. Its not "Nebish-style".

I am thinking you must have pretty thin skin if any of the aforementioned “terms” bother you.

They don't bother me, v. Only pointing out that they must bother goob because he uses these names on a regular basis. Have you not noticed?

I thought I was pretty clear in my response. Specific words by themselves may or may not be protected speech. For genuine legal advice, the cost is about $500/hour; you're not going to get anything substantive on a music forum for free. If you're wondering what words can be directed at others in the forum, ask Rowland.

Official or not, these typically describe people who support a political party or at least who agrees with some of their ideas. Why would they be offensive?

If you have to ask what is appropriate, you are either: Passive aggressively challenging the moderator, who's patience is already worn thin; trolling and testing your limits; trying a stealth attempt to stir up discord; or genuinely unaware of obvious social cues.

Great timing on this post, only a few hours before "inflammatory rhetoric" caused a nutjob to kill 11 in Pittsburgh.
You can't make this sh!t up.

Passive aggressively challenging the moderator
Let me see if I thoroughly "understand" PC culture, the above statement and its reference to "passive aggressiveness" is the same as punching someone in the face with your fist?..and them violently kicking them while they are down?....
Got it.

Does this kind of get the ball rolling with you point - especially on personal responsibility?

I have no idea what your point is but feel free to read into it all you want. It was a face value simple point regarding the little end runs around the moderator's request. The term "passive aggressive" has been around since decades before it became a trigger word for anti-PC.

Not really. Personal Responsibility is clearly defined solely in the phrase itself.
You alone are held responsible for your actions. Simple math. No excuses.

"Trigger(ed)" another classic "PC" term...lol
"Inflammatory Rhetoric"... wow, just wow. Be "inflamed" 'til your heart is content, Get angry, stomp your feet, pout, cry, scream, get offended. I don't care, but you always have a choice. You have two feet and a thought process, walk away.
Choose not to listen, Choose not to be affected. Stop trying to place the blame on anyone but yourself.
This, is where change begins

OK. Good advice.
