There are things not widely known about AOC, Ms. Ocasio-Cortez. I remember the outrage when she made her remark about 9-11 being about "some people that did some things." What people do not realize is that she was 10 years old when 9-11 happened. How much can a 10 year old comprehend at that point in their lives. Her Mother was working two jobs to keep a roof over their head, it was not an easy time for her.

She interned for Ted Kennedy on foreign affairs and immigration.
She worked on Bernie Sanders 2016 campaign as an organizer and aligns with socialism. She has the support of some big Democrats including Barack Obama, NY Governor Andrew Cuomo, NY Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, NYC Mayor Bill DeBlasio, the Working Families Party etc.
She wants to bring about change, and though she is a young Member of Congress she probably will make a big difference during her career. What is bad is that because she is challenging some governmental entities, she is now receiving threats.
She went to one of the border immigration camps with 1 or 2 others first hand to see conditions there. She reported on her findings, the Trump administration then send Pence to go to a camp that did not have the problems she reportedly witnessed to try to say that the Democrats were making things up about how bad things were. But it did not stop there. Now the Border Patrol officers are involved and she has been the subject of a 10,000 member strong Facebook group that advocated violently raping her etc.
