Didn't see where it was until July 24, passed between Earth and Moon July 25, about 2am on the East coast, distance was around 48,000 miles.

Did you see it?

Whoa man that was close! Reading "Seveneves" by Neal Stephenson - big sci fi space colonization saga - starts out with the moon breaking up and fallng into Earth in zillion bits: came out in 2015, good rocket rag

I was reading the article and thought, Where the hell is Bruce Willis and company?

"If it hit Columbus, Ohio, then there would be Columbus, Ohio no more." NO DUH.
