Veterans Boycotting the Super Bowl

And when the players express a dissenting opinion from BIGV’s, he labels them disrespectful to the flag.
I am just so mean.

And liberal, apparently, by your own definition.

Disagree with the left, express a dissenting opinion and you are ignorant, a racist or a bigot. This is exactly why President Trump is in the White House
So you’re saying Trump is payback?

If the shoe fits. What I am saying is that prior to the Election, there was no dialogue, zero political discussion. People who despised Trump said so openly, sometimes moments into opposing opinion. Those participating in the process did not care to be shouted down for their beliefs and retreated into the voting booth w/o having told anyone for whom they were casting their vote. The Polls showed Hillary in a landslide. The negativity placed him there. The Hate and anger put him there. Read through this thread and see who is using the "Racist" card.

The horror!
Those participating in the process did not care to be shouted down for their beliefs and retreated into the voting booth w/o having told anyone for whom they were casting their vote.
So in order to counter and combat the mean, intolerant, juvenile liberals, the right decided to.........resort to the same thing?

Gee, I can’t imagine why anyone would think Trump is racist. So unfairly treated!

Why is it always "the racist card" to mention racism?

Why is it always "the racist card" to mention racism?
How else is it brought into a conversation?

Some conservatives felt tormented and attacked by Obama being President, for whatever reason, and like BIGV said, decided to get payback by electing someone that would torment them back. I happen to agree with this assessment of what happened. It's not about Hillary since there were 18 other Republican candidates to choose from. They didn't want someone to enact conservative policies that they believe would help the country. They wanted someone who would torment the left instead. I think race played only a minor role in this whole scenario.
I truly don't believe liberals elected Obama to torment anyone. They just love the guy. Even Luke acknowledges this when he comes on here to make fun of the "Obama love affair". But more than one conservative on here - BIGV and KCJimmy, both acknowledged that Trump's presidency is an act of revenge. So, I think it's more of a sensitivity and fear issue rather than race. While the left was just electing someone they loved, the right felt attacked and threatened. The right was in a fight with the left, and the left didn't even know it.

and like BIGV said, decided to get payback by electing someone that would torment them back. /-/ ...BIGV and KCJimmy, both acknowledged that Trump's presidency is an act of revenge.
My exact words were "If the shoe fits".
Point of Clarification, I am a Centrist Libertarian who does not match-up on every issue.....
But speak out against the left and you are a Conservative who supported Trump.

Point of Clarification, I am a Centrist Libertarian who does not match-up on every issue.....
And only bashes the left, and says nothing negative about Trump supporters, not once. Freud might have something to say about that.

You certainly argue like a Trump supporter.
I can't seem to put into words just how Anti-Liberal most of my belief systems are.
I believe in less Taxes & less Gubmint. I am Pro-Choice and love the dedication of the U.S. Military. I respect the Flag and believe in borders.
Classify me in anyway you wish.

Less gubmint was always historically a
classic leftwing liberal stance. I don't know how or when it became a conservative thing. The word "liberal" means exactly what it says.
Whole world's upside down these days.

I don't know how or when it became a conservative thing.
It is definitely a Libertarian "thing".

Makes sense - "liberal" and "libertarian" are practically the same word.

I am Pro-Choice and love the dedication of the U.S. Military. I respect the Flag and believe in borders.
At face value I agree with all of this. But, since I'm a member of "the Left," I actually don't.
Oh well!

People who despised Trump said so openly, sometimes moments into opposing opinion. Those participating in the process did not care to be shouted down for their beliefs and retreated into the voting booth w/o having told anyone for whom they were casting their vote.
No one on "the Right" would not and never does anything like this at all, ever. No one on "the Right" has spent any energy at all for almost 30 years openly hating the Clintons.
C'mon.

So the people upset about Shaun White dragging the flag or stepping on the American flag following his gold metal run yesterday are racist...against red heads maybe, or...something? I mean it has to be right, what other possible explanation could exist for anyone to care, it's just some stupid symbol, just a piece of cloth that doesn't mean or represent anything, it has to be about race. Clearly.

Maybe if you weren't so vague, beat-around-the-bush about your personal beliefs people wouldn't be so confused about where you stand.
What a dilemma, how do you get through the day ?...I mean being confused about a post on this site?...Must really slow you down.

Just another sad, white christian conservative evil bigot hiding behind this "America First" / MAGA disguise.
Just curious, what percentage of the U.S. population do you believe this pathetic little man represents?
Well, in 2016 there were 249,485,228 people over the age of 18 in the U.S. 62,984,825 people voted for him, so...25.245%?
So, this is what all Trump voters espouse?
Nope, large percentage though. Vast majority.
Why do you sound like you're just now finding out the character of this whole alt-right thing that put Trump into power? It's been on full display for like 3 years now.
OK, I'll bite. What's the percentage? Please post references.
There is no accurate data available because, as mentioned above, people are generally not honest, forthcoming, or even self-aware about their racist and bigoted attitudes.
My estimate is based on my observation that Trump voters tend to be cut from the same cloth, speak the same and take up all the same issues, and get their information from the same sources and support a president who makes racially charged/bigoted statements on the regular. You don't see much diversity in the Trump crowd, I think my estimate is accurate.
[Edited on 2/9/2018 by LeafontheWind]
Then you basically made up the "large percentage" part of your post? If there are no figures, how did you come up with that response?
I voted for Trump. Not because I necessarily liked him, but I just couldn't in good conscious vote for Clinton.
My main mantra this election cycle was that I am an ABC voter (Anybody But Clinton). I know many blacks in the mid Ga area that said they would not vote for Clinton, but I couoldn't give you a statistic on any percentage since there are a lot more blacks in the area than the ones I know and talk with.
So there is a diversity in the Trump voter pool and if you ask around you will find that maybe some of the people you know were not as inbred into the democratic party and thought that maybe if we elect somebody so different from the usual politicians this time that we might get some better candidates next time around.
Go out and talk with people instead of daily trying to find fault with those who voted for Trump. Find someone who voted for him and ask (pleasantly of course) of why they voted for him. You might get some answers that you actually like.

(Quote)Look, you can say whatever you want about why you voted for him, but at the end of the day Trump stood at a podium an read an official declaration of intent to ban an entire religion from entering the county. And then you voted for him. There's nothing else I need to know about you and your "good conscious" (sic).(Quote)
Why do you insist on repeating a lie when I know that even you know it's a lie. He did not ban an entire religion from entering the country and you know it. So why do you go on with the lie?
If he had banned an entire religion from entering the country there would be no one from Malaysia, France, Turkey, Philippines, or any other country that were Muslin allowed in the country. The "travel ban" didn't affect
any one of a Muslin religion from any of those countries.
It did affect everyone in the countries of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, and Yemen no matter what religion they were. So tell me again how that would ban an entire religion from entering the country.(Quote)You could have not voted. You could have written in another Republican's name. You could have voted for HRC -- oh wait she's the anti-christ, nevermind.(Quote)
Remember, YOU called her the anti-christ, not me. No I will never vote for HRC and writing in a vote for a different candidate would not do what I wanted, keep your so called anti-christ out of the White House.
(Quote)Speaking of HRC, I voted for her. What singular platform issue of hers stands tall against Trump's Muslim Ban in terms of flat-out disgusting disregard for American / human values? I would love to know what the red line issue was for you where the banishment of an entire religion from entering the country becomes the lesser of two evils?(Quote)
There you go putting in that lie again.
PS: I feel sorry for you that you could only choose HRC and could not cast a vote showing that you want real change in the cesspool we call government, even if it takes another election cycle to do so.

So why do you go on with the lie?
There you go putting in that lie again.
I think you misunderstood, are misinformed, or simply got your timelines confused. You voted for a total ban on Muslims entering the country. Every. Single. Muslim.
I'll just leave this right here:
This is the one time it's OK to post a YouTube video as fact.
You can call me a liar if you want, but that's what was said and there's the proof. He's reading off an official press release. It doesn't get any more formal than that. Then you voted for it.
I am well aware of the actual, lesser travel restrictions that were implemented many months later. Long after you voted for Trump and a "TOTAL AND COMPLETE SHUTDOWN OF MUSLIMS ENTERING THE UNITED STATES".
I didn't and don't find the government to be a cesspool, that's a conservative attitude reinforced on a continual basis by conservative media.
[Edited on 2/15/2018 by LeafontheWind]
It's been a cesspool since after Kennedy. It's just that you are so used to it you don't know the difference.
You must not have listened to what Trump said because you must have missed "until our country's representatives can figure out what the hell is going on."
That means that you basically misunderstood, and were misinformed.

So banning an entire religion from entering the US is OK, so long as an arbitrary time qualifier is attached?
Have they figured it out yet Jerry? Because it's been a over a year now.
I still think most Trump voters are bigots. So far this conversation is reinforcing my opinion, not changing it.
Sorry that you don't understand words, but you do know that when he tried to implement his travel ban it was for a period of 90 days and only for the previously mentioned countries, not a ban on Muslims entering the country.
Since you seem to have all the knowledge of the "ban", would you like to expand our knowledge on what was to happen during those 90 days?

hey Leaf. I see in the board index that you posted at 9:07 PM tonight, but the last post shown is mine at 9:00pm.
Have you posted in the last 10 minutes?

You voted for Trump based on an executive order that was drafted months later?
How is this possible? How did you know in November 2016 that it was to be only 90 days, and only for a small group of countries?
Here's the timeline:
December 7, 2015: Candidate Donald Trump calls for ban on all Muslims entering the United States for an unspecified/arbitrary period of time
November 8, 2016: With no moral/ethical objections to aforementioned Muslim ban, Conservatives flock by the millions to polls to cast their vote for Donald Trump
January 7, 2017: President Donald Trump signs EO 13769 banning travel into USA thru March 16, 2017 from a select list of (Muslim majority) countries
1) No, I can't predict the future so i didn't know about the length of delay.
2) That was not a reason I voted for Trump.
3) Glad you finally recognized that it was Muslim majority countries listed and not just Muslims.
4) You haven't explained what the 90 day "ban" was for.
