USC mascot racist?

In this day of finding almost anything offensive, some students at USC (California) have decided that the horse used as a mascot is "racially divisive" since the horse Robert E. Lee rode was named Traveller. The fact that the mascots' name is Traveler, one l, not two, doesn't matter.
Maybe the Black Student Assembly will want to tear down the statue of Traveler that was erected in 1961?
Kneejerk
Edit: Sorry, the statue was erected in 2010, the mascot has been used since 1961.

College is where you're supposed to be mad and full of activism. Little has changed in that regard.

Yes, it's not often they have to face them, but USC hates southerners...52-6 loss to Bama and 21-7 loss to Georgia Tech.

And furthermore, I read where someone from USC explained that was the original horses name when they acquired him/her from a local company that supplied horses to the movie industry. Not like USC named the horse in the first place, according to that spokesman.
