Sobering statement. Al Qaida did not really like the media but decided to use it as part of their plan, the Afghan Talibs on the other hand loved the media because they wanted to tell THEIR story and extricate themselves from the narrative of 'they are all in it together, so let's go bomb Afghanistan to get rid of Al Qaida'.
Those who do not fear the media want the truth to be told. Those who fear the media usually have something to hide.
