The accounts from the guy who murdered the girl have been taken care of, but, there are a few morbid nutcases out there that keep re-posting the photos on different accounts and do a new account as fast or faster than social media can delete them.

Yeah man, big social media has always scared me. I read a lot of Philip K. Dick and cyberpunk back in the pre internet era, so when it all started to come true I was already freaked out by it.

If it was up to me, be glad it isn't, when someone keeps working around the "code of conduct" like the obviously insane people are doing about the photos of the young girl's murder, I would send a backdoor code that would first turn on the camera if one is hooked to the computer. The photo of the person, their ip address, home address, phone number, and of course links to any illegal or embarrassing items on their hard drive, would be posted over the offending photos.
Local authorities would be alerted about the above items and requests made to investigate their possible connection to the murder.

The backdoor would stay in place until removed by the person who sent it when police alert them to the investigation. If no alert within 7 days, the nasty parts would be released. Malware would allow the computer to receive only a video of Barney singing his song, and nothing could be sent from the computer. Further items could be placed in the firmware of the hard drive that even if the hard drive is formatted, all you would get is the same thing.
Removing and replacing the hard drive wouldn't help since the ip address is on file and when it comes back up online, you just do it over again.

Read the article - at least they caught the killer. The rest of it is just too weird. It is noble of all those folks to try to overpost to bury the offending post, but the whole thing is just feeding itself. Best to just stay the hell away.
