Trump supporters should take this very last chance to align themselves with one of the many great conservatives in Washington, rather than this. With so many options, why root for the lowest one? It just makes me wonder why anyone would want to associate themselves with a deeply sad and pathetic human being. And even if they take this last chance, I still have to ask....how the F did you not see something so obvious, when it was as obvious to so many back in 2016?

It is always a relief when a thread starts a new page and is no longer blown up too huge by obnoxious posters who don't know how to resize.
Hope that's coming.
Kudos to Ayers for being one person to say "No" to Trump. He's 36 with plans. Why blow them working for a mercurial mess who has no idea about or respect for anything to do with governing? Nixon at least operated in an era when both he & voters understood basic civics. He resigned rather than be impeached back when that was a humiliation & not just a distraction.
I have no particular faith in the new Congress's ability to act. A lot of these newly elected Dems are DC neophytes & political amateurs at best who can do sound bytes but not acts of Congress. I don't believe impeachment is imminent. Having read Cohen's sentencing memo from the SDNY & Mueller's latest, I don't believe impeachment is inevitable unless there's a lot of detail under those thick black lines of redaction.

Personally I hope the incoming Dem led House does not impeach Little Donnie. The Senate will not follow thru anyway so why waste the time? Instead they need to thwart Little Donnie's agenda, what's left of it, every way possible.
A good start occurred yesterday as both Chuck Schumer and Pelosi basically schooled the president in Congressional politics yesterday. Of course the lesson went right over his head as he attempted to lie repeatedly about the actual facts, figures, vote tally, etc. with regard to his useless wall and continuing spending measure.
That is to say, he has no idea how the Congress works and both of these seasoned congressional operators illustrated exactly that for the entire country to witness. Of course his base will eat up his ignorance and think he actually sounded knowledgeable about the subject matter. Without McConnell and to a far lesser extent, Ryan, Trump would be completely ineffectual from a legislative standpoint.
I would add that 2112 made a great point about the slowing economy, the debt skyrocketing, trade deficits increasing, slower job growth, tariff's creating havoc, extreme volatility and contraction of the markets, etc...While the economy is certainly due for a recession, Trump, in his infinite ignorance, may very well have brought it all on sooner than might have been the case.

Tell us why you think border security is a bad idea. Other than rooting for the economy to tank and President Trump to fail, you have no vision for America.

I know you asked someone else this question and not me, but why does opposing the wall mean that you are against border security? Might there be other more affordable and more effective options? Did you not see those "refugees" climbing and sitting on top of the wall? Have you not heard about tunnels? The border wall will cost each US taxpayer $180, plus interest since we will have to borrow the money to build it since we are already running increasing deficits. Might as well just flush that money down the toilet, because unless Mexico outlaws ladders, it will be about as effective as a pea shooter at a gun fight. Unless the great negotiator can get Mexico to pay for it like he promised about a million times. Funny how all his fans who used to chant that Mexico will pay for it don't seem to care about that anymore.

but why does opposing the wall mean that you are against border security?
Either he’s not very bright or he’s very dysfunctional.

Nice try Goob....You know full well what my post means and that neither of your suggestions above relate to my post. Just admit Trump is a catastrophe on multiple levels. It's okay, you were conned by a professional con man as were many other Americans. The first step toward recovery is admitting your mistake.

The lefties, desperate for voters. do not care about national security.
How many more homeless camps populated by illegal aliens can California handle?
They already have many homeless Americans suffering there now.

Interesting that you think that borrowing tens of billions of dollars from a country we're in the middle of a trade war with is a good idea for National Security. Owing China or the Saudisor whoever buys the debt billions is far more of a security risk than anything related to Mexico.

So we have all watched very recent videos of illegals dropping children over the border wall and I am to believe that having a wall that's so easily approached and breached is a perfectly fine security deterrent?
We could all move on to other debate and off the "wall" discussion if liberals just admitted their resistance to the wall has ZERO TO DO WITH BORDER SECURITY and is a symbol of how President Trump thoroughly and handily wiped the floor with Crooked Hillary and her elitist 2016 campaign and butt-hurt leftists like Boyton cant stand losing to a political novice. So much so that they cannot accept anything this President or his supporters believe is right for America.

So a political novice ran afoul of some campaign finance regulations. And CNN and the Trump-haters now have a new focus from this two year investigation... Two years of searching and the media and democrats circle back to the sword-swallower's political tails.

That's a good defense. I'm a novice, I didn't know it was a felony. Can I have a do-over?

"some campaign finance regulations" - If this was Crooked Hillary, your queen of infatuation, you'd be yelling "lock her up". That's why any good mob boss needs a fixer & the National Enquirer to cover things up and whitewash. Do you not understand that?
Yep "CNN and Trump-haters" - Those SDNY guys really hate Trump. Their jobs are secondary in nature, right? Thank goodness there is FOX to set the record straight with alternative facts & propaganda.

illegals dropping children over the border wall
So they are illegals before they cross the border now?

yes, they would be welcome coming thru the front door. Why is this process so hard for them to understand? Are they illiterate?

Reason left the die-hards this week. Months ago, it was Trump never did anything, then it was maybe some people around him did something or knew something, and last week it was the federal court - unrelated to Mueller - accepting Cohen's guilty plea & requesting info on mitigating circumstances. What they got was "Trump told me to do it."
This week, we have the Tabloid King saying "Trump orchestrated it" and the most mind-blowing of all - the Fox legal analyst explaining in monosyllables to disbelieving Fox hosts that "Trump committed a felony. It's that simple."
So, the short investigation by the federal court in New York ruled that Trump aka Individual-1 committed felonies. It's not a surprise or a secret. No one, including Fox, is pretending that Trump didn't commit a felony. The only question is whether the HR will bother to impeach him (my guess is no) and will he be indicted if he leaves office before the statute of limitations runs (guessing no, there, too.)
Anyone denying these facts is likely to call people outside the US illegals before they enter the US.

I could care less about the politics moron. I care about how so many dysfunctional losers like yourself are able to be brainwashed like sheep. Scary to realize.
So much so that they cannot accept anything this President or his supporters believe is right for America.
Obviously, you did this for 8 years with Obama, didn’t you. Which means you ARE the person you hate. Sounds like a personal problem.

If you think Trump wiped the floor with Clinton then you clearly were not paying attention. Clinton recieved over 3 million more votes than Trump. If it weren't for the fact that the flyover states get more electoral votes per actual voter, Trump would still be whining about the "rigged" election and all his friends might not be facing jail time.
My opposition to the wall has nothing to do with my dislike for Trump. My opposition is that it is a dumb and very expensive idea that won't work. To spend tens of billions of dollars for something that can be breached with a ladder or a shovel is just throwing money in the toilet. I am not anti border security at all, just there are better ways to do it. If Trump can get Mexico to pay for a wall, fine I don't care. Let Mexico waste their money and I'll congratulate Trump on his negotiation skills. Really, I don't care if there is a wall or not, but the US taxpayers should not be paying for it - and Trump promised during the campaign that they wouldn't have to.

Hold on a second.
Until people admit what YOU believe they think, there's no more room for debate?
I'm a liberal. I voted for Hillary. She lost. Trump won. He's the President now.
But, according to YOU, I and 63 million other people have no right to an opinion on how the President conducts himself, discuss policy or anything else because YOU JUST KNOW it's all rooted in some kind of mental temper tantrum?
No offense, but that's insane. I've accepted the fact that he won and she lost. Now I'm supposed to just shut up for four years? I have no right to an opinion on Trump?

I don't think they can brag very much about the economy anymore either. The Dow is down for the year, very few jobs are being added, the deficit has exploded, and the trade deficit continues to increase. Seems like the optimism of a Trump presidency helping the economy has hit a brick wall of reality.
"Dow is down for the year"
- Sometimes markets going up is good, sometimes. Sometimes markets going down is bad, sometimes. Markets can be detached from real economic data. Take 2009 for instance, big gains were seen in the markets, but the economy was still in shambles. Alot of things influence buying, selling and how traders/computers react to data. What Wall St wants doesn't always align with what Main St wants. Too many people (the President included) used stock gains as an indicator of their early success.
"very few jobs are being added"
- 155,000 added in November. 198,000 expected, so yes that came in below. October was revised down to 237,000 from 250,000. The sustained job growth at this point in the expansion cycle has been surprising. What are there over 7 million job openings out there? Job growth potential still exists.
"the deficit has exploded"
- at 4% of GDP it is lower than several years in the 1980s, lower than the early 90s and lower than 2009-12. I do agree, the spending plans agreed to this year should not have been passed and more spending cuts need enacted.
"the trade deficit continues to increase"
- yes more work here needs done, at least if we are going to continue to import we can make some tax revenue off those imports due to additional tariffs.
"optimism of a Trump presidency helping the economy has hit a brick wall"
- Whether it is attributed to him or not, the economy has been helped the past 2 years. The foundation was laid under Obama, but sustaining and growing has taken place. 2017 growth was modest over 2016 and 2018 1st qrt was only 2%, but 2nd qrt GDP was 4.2%, 3rd qrt was 3.5%. Compared to the rest of the world, growth in the US has been strong. Can that continue? There is reason to question the sustainability, sure. But I would say 2 years into this administration that optimism was reality. What will it be the next 2 years? Good question. Periods of expansion always end at some point. We're at 113 months right now. The longest period is 120 months. Think we break it?

Seems like President Dumbass, errr I mean Trump, is all keyed up and working extra hard this morning, spent close to 2 hours farting into his smartphone.............Peace........joe

Ponder this for a minute.......Trump has convinced a large segment of conservative voters to trash Mueller, a Republican decorated war hero from the Marines, and make him the enemy of the USA. For anyone to accept this (conservative judges is the new justified reason, now that the economy and stock market doesn’t hold water), is not going to have legs to stand on when they want credibility after he’s gone. I can’t imagine why Republicans in Washington take such risk by supporting this guy.

Because they think he represents them. He hates the same people they do. He pisses off the left, and the right love that. He may be rich, but he acts like trailer trash, so somehow they think he lives the life they always wanted to live.
