Just heard of the news Trump has bulldozers tearing out the large homeless encampment the local government of Washington, DC allowed to grow roots and flourish near the Kennedy Center.
Trump has a big night planned at the Kennedy Center and he doesn't want a huge encampment of homeless people that close by.
The mayor of Washington is outraged but apparently has no way to stop it.
Also Trump has ordered all DC policemen to begin immediately sharing all information about contact with the undocumented with ICE immediately. The DC police chief stated his department will followed the President's orders.
Is this the first time the US military has conducted police activity on US soil?
That someone could confuse the infantile actions of an individual with the IQ of a marshmallow for a sanctioned publicity stunt befuddles me.
I get that homeless encampments are an eyesore. I do. But the idea of bulldozing them away is not only simplistic, it will lead to further problems. There is a term called displacement. Think of what happens to wildlife (flora and fauna) when humans take natural areas near forests, beaches etc and plow them over for new residential areas. You start seeing deer, rabbits -even bears roaming suburban streets. Like those displaced animals, the populations of these homeless encampments will simply reappear in new areas. They will become someone else's "problem".
Some of you might remember my posts about my own brother who became a street person from 20 years ago. I'm not going to get into the details of his own demise, but I will tell you that in searching for him I learned a lot about the street population.
Yeah, there are portions who kinda got there by their own mean - substance abuse, various failures and fuckups. But there are many others with physical and mental illness who come from abject poverty to begin with. There are elderly and even children in these populations.

Certainly some eyes were opened. Trump DOES have the support of the majority of the country now and a lot of people have "come out" if you will acknowledging that the left went to far.
The irony is if Trump had won in 2020 he would be gone now and there would have been no awakening (I nearly choked using that word as it suggests wokeness, lol). The republican party would not be near as strong as it is now. It would literally be business as usual for the deep state democratic machine and the lying main stream media. So a lot of you got exactly what you voted for in 2020. But most of the country did not like it. That led to the 2024 election results. The Democratic party has a real serious problem right now and it isn't Trump. It's not Republicans. The veil has been lifted and a lot of people don't like what they see. Hating Trump is not going to solve their problems. That's not a policy. To make it worse, those who's eyes have not been opened are doubling down on some of the stupidity. Bill Clinton was successful because he moved to the center from the left. There would be no place in the democratic party today for a JFK. Inflation went up due to COVID-related supply chain, inflation went down over the course of his administration. Now it's going back up thanks to Trump's tariffs.
Russia and Hamas incursions are both in other countries, both had been planning the incursions for over a year. Trump has been incapable of stopping the ongoing fighting. He also negotiated with the Taliban in Martha's Vineyard.
Biden commuted sentences which is different than a pardon, they are still in prison. His pardons were mostly for drug offenses. Trump pardoned a bunch of violent insurrectionists and gave them jobs. Trump also welcomed back violent rapist Andrew Tate. He doesn't care about protecting women.

You can't Gerrymander a STATE in regards to a Presidential election, gerrymandering refers to Congressional districts within the state. I am related to several conservative Christians who do not like Trump for a variety of reasons BUT they voted for him anyway.
My oldest male cousin who is almost 80 told me he was going to half to hold his nose and vote for Trump because Biden/Harris is absolutely opposed to the clear teaching of Scripture. Abortion, gay marriage, confused men in the women's rest room, confused men in women's sports making it impossible for most women to win.
And to these people Biden and Nancy Pelosi are the worst kind of Catholic. They are out of step with the clear teaching of Scripture AND the Catholic Church. No wonder Nancy Pelosi's Bishop cancelled her ability to receive the Holy Communion in the church. Nancy said her Bishop is void of any Christian humility and that she takes the teachings of the church seriously and that is why she had several children. In her life as a political servant she feels it necessary to separate her own personal beliefs from her roll as a politician representing people of other faiths and atheists and agnostics who are not religious.

And many will say on the last day Lord we worshipped you and attended church and communion every time and have to church charity but the new Pope said they will hear the Lord say "I never knew you". " You never surrendered your life to me and obeyed me. Faith without works is worthless and a confession of faith in Jesus also means obedience in your DAILY life not just on Sunday morning".
