If you haven't voted. You should try to. If you do nothing more than vote some useless incumbents you will have done a good thing! If there is any good candidate running, get out and support him/her.

I voted, hoping that some of the higher profile races like Virginia governor go republican. I can tell turnout was low in my district.

Looks like its going to the democrats. Northam seems like a decent candidate, has a military background.

The New Jersey Governors election is going blue. Too early to call but Virginia may follow suit.

Ooops, looks like Northam has won. Two Trump smack downs.

New Jersey is a democratic stronghold. No surprise a democrat won. Christie was very unpopular. Hard for a republican to win Jersey with those facts.

CC (a Republican) won NJ previously so that shoots your theory for winning that state. He governed horribly and dug his own hole to becoming unpopular. This didn't help the GOP candidate.

In Va, the GOP candidate for Governor would not have Trump come in and campaign beside him. What does that tell you about the toxicity of Trump? Trump tweeted tonight that the GOP candidate did not embrace him (Trump). Even in a loss, Trump takes a slap at the GOP candidate.

2 states tonight were referendums on Trump. Wait until House & Senate seats start flipping...maybe then those in Congress who are too big of pu$$ies will see the light and stand up to Trump and his horrible character and lack of leadership. Otherwise, their seats may be the next to flip.

The Virginia win is an epic slap down. Northam is up by more than 8 points. It could go higher.

In the House of Delegates Democrats are taking historically high wins.

The Delegate who authored the Transgender Bathroom Bill was beaten by a transgender woman.

The first two Latina candidates both won as well making them the first Hispanic Women to win State Delegate positions in the Commonwealth.

It seems inclusiveness and unity have trumped bigotry and division.

This one is amazing! A transgender woman beat the ultra-conservative Republican who held that seat for 26 years! If that's not a statement then I don't know what is.

Boy, the democrats sure are randy over this meaningless off year result. It wont be long before the leftist over reach will start by talking gun confiscation, poly- restroooms and blm protests.

Wow, hurt are we? Good lord! You were so civil in the beginning of the thread, and then you short circuited. What changed?

Stay complacent. How can a president with a 33% approval rating be in trouble?

If either race had anything to do with Hiillary Clinton being president the results would have been, very, very different.

Again, what does Hillary have to do with anything? The results probably would be different if she was president, but she isn't so the point is moot. This election was to a point a referendum on Trump. So Republicans are trying to minimize the results by saying that both Virginia and New Jersey are Democratic states, but an ultra conservative who has been in office for 26 year was voted out in favor of a transgender woman. Obviously that district can't be overly Democratic if they elected a conservative Republican for 26 years.

Governorships and state legislatures are a big deal. There's 34 states with Republican governors and it takes 38 states to ratify an amendment. This has been a quiet goal for a while now on the ALEC side of things.

Your love affair with Hillary has been noted many times already. Time for you to make a move on her before you get cold feet. Grin

"meaningless off-year result"…..if these elections had gone the other way, you'd be drooling all over yourself to proclaim them the most significant in American political history. Your hypocrisy is matched only by the degree to which your humanity has shriveled…like Trump's genitalia.

Local and state elections are important even in "off years". I'm glad to see so many people of different backgrounds win.
