"Deplorables" was always too kind a word for Trump's flock. They wrap themselves in the flag in the name of patriotism while basically attempting a coup. Now they are enemies of the state. We are way past shame upon Trump, rather shame on those who rode this train and shoveled coal into the engine until it crashed.

Got TV on and they are in Nancy Pelosi's office. One Trump supporter is seated at her desk with his feet on her desk.
When I would see these people on TV, they were outraged at BLM and Antifa for destruction of private property, ripping down statues of historical figures including Washington, Lincoln and Columbus. Burning police cars, burning police stations, burning a Wendy's, a McDonald's, smashing the windows of Target and Wall Mart then stealing everything that could be carried.
Now these people have invaded and occupied the U.S. Capitol for the first time since the British did it over 200 years ago. Smashing windows, rioting and engaging in violence.
What is the difference??
I'm a moderate Democrat and I don't like right wing intolerance and I don't like socialism and defund the police. I'm certain Joe Biden is shocked by this and Biden months ago also said the burning, looting and violence, the ripping down of statues is wrong and violaters should be prosecuted. And he said he was NOT a socialist. Trump needs to say the same...now!! Stop the violence and get out of our Capital. Right wing intolerance and hate is a different kind of socialism.
My only surprise is that there weren't more law enforcement amassed at the Capitol to prevent what we all knew was coming. A couple dozen congressional police and a few hundred National Guard troops not even close to the Capitol?

Governor Northam just sent over a dozen Virginia State Police Officers and the DOJ is sending in the FBI. Capitol police and DC police can't handle this. Maryland police are coming. This needs to be shut down before dark. National Guard is coming.
"President" Trump just delivered a very hollow and insincere TAPED message - still not backing away from his claims and allegations of a stolen election. He asks his supporters to "go home".
This message is nothing short of an unbelievable disgrace. I'm just sick to my stomach right now.
To my "friends", acquaintances and even relatives who support this anarchy - should you find yourself arrested during one of these "protests" (there are several popping up across the nation) -DO NOT CALL ME LOOKING FOR BAIL MONEY! Instead, enjoy your slow rot in whatever facility you find yourself in.
In my opinion, Trump should be removed from office immediately.
People breaching the interior of Capital should've been shot on sight. That would've kept the rest of them out. Unfortunately there just aren't enough security people on hand for the chaos happening.

I have two TVs on that I go back and forth between all the cable news networks. They all have some different videos and people calling on their phone lines.
I found a livestream video made by a protester inside the capitol. It was at least an hour long. Crazy.

I'm hoping that todays actions in Washington D.C. will cause those Trump supporters who have to date, been sitting on the fringes looking in to realize that they have been following a false and dangerous prophet. I honestly believe that some of these will reverse their course of belief.
To echo one of the CNN panel, let's hope that what's transpired today is an ugly end to a very ugly chapter in our history.

I can promise you that all of these folks have been photographed in EXTREME high definition from posts all over D.C. I'd be willing to bet that many get arrested and prosecuted - even if it takes several days or weeks. Those who do have jobs will likely be fired from them. 😉

Exactly. My thoughts too. This should have been anticpated and expected. There should have been ample police & military presence for expected trouble / coup. This is on Trump who instigates this with his lies and provoking words to the crowds. His followers take their ques from him. Also the likes of Cruz, Hawley, McCarthy, etc. have responsibility too. There words and actions don't go unnoticed.
Why would any of this surprise us? This is who Trump is. This is who he was before he got elected & who he is as he is being run out of DC. He's burnt norms all along the way. He took down the Republican Party who licked his shoes for four years and covered up his illegalities and incompetence. In four years under his watch the GOP lost the presidency, the house, and probably the senate.
We aren't supposed to be a 3rd world country run by a dictator, but is there any doubt that's who he is? Good riddance. The only remaining question is how much more damage does he cause in the next 2 weeks?
Your last question is exactly why Article 25 should be used ASAP....But sadly those in the cabinet who can use it are all cowards and Trump enablers.
As far as the Republicans in Congress who went along for the ride today, I hope history holds them accountable. And the voters remember their actions the next time their up for reelection. Probably too much to hope for given the attention span of the average voter is, well, not particularly long.
