Obama is out trying to convince people that his presidency and his policies had nothing to do with Trump getting elected. Tough sell. This will be job one of the remainder of his term.

Textbook Obama, "It's not my fault!"

Why would they have something to do with it?

Obama did say while out campaigning for Hillary Clinton that while he was not on the ballot this time around his policies were.
Thus the result on election day.

Overall Obama has a high approval rating as do the sections of the ACA that Trump wants to keep.

In contrast the Republican Party had the lowest approval rating in Washington. It was like 33% and Trump took advantage of this by attacking the GOP as well as George W Bush at almost every rally. People wanted Washington cleaned up and the Republicans were central to the corruption that permeated the government. All of this is documented in rally footage and tapes of the primary debates.

You got to get on board the reality train.

Obama's approval rating is of his personality. When polled on his policies his approval ranking is a single digit.

The only other group with a lower approval rating is the media.

Just because Obama said that once or twice over the course of a 16 month Presidential campaign, doesn't mean it was the only issue that affected voters' decisions.

No one said it was the only reason because they know Obama's failure as President, Hillary Clinton's empty resume, corruption, crimes and habitual lying coupled with her campaign of no ideas and hate were all factors in her demise.

Hillary Clinton with the full support of Obama blew it.
It was hubris and they got what they deserved.

Of course you provide no links.

Well, I'm over talking about past candidates, but Hillary Clinton was a Secretary of State and US Senator, not to mention a lawyer (compared to Trump, who doesn't even have a law degree). "Empty resume" isn't even debatable, that is just false and I think you know it (along with claiming Clinton lied anymore than Donald Trump did over the campaign).

You'd make a good politician, using your own anecdotal evidence as if they were facts.

I was never a fan of Hillary but she did win the popular vote.

This is another example of your incredible stupidity: "Clinton's empty resume, corruption, crimes and habitual lying"

Trump lied about 80% of the time opposed to Clinton's 20& or so.

I think the general argument on Clinton was that her resume was too full and she had been in Washington too long. See even telling the truth can work to your advantage. No need to lie all the time.

Swifty, you are arguing with expert trolls. They want you to reply to their nonsense, and you are feeding right into it. I would highly recommend that you only respond to a serious post.

Yeah, I can disagree with people here and still respect where they are coming from, but Mule ignores facts and logic that he doesn't like. Also, I think he might be Shawn Kemp considering he assumes we are all his "sons".

This is the whipping post and the intent was always to provide a place away from the music where people from the right and left could engage. In general the right participants on this forum have always been skeptical of the views of the left participants and the left has always been skeptical of the views of the right. There is really no difference between you believing muleman is a troll and him believing you are a liberal media puppet. You might argue that your views are more serious and legitimate in that they are grounded in fact, but he believes exactly the same thing.

With the election of Donald Trump as president the views and beliefs of people like Muleman have moved from the fringe to the center. You have to realize that the political views of Muleman are very close to the views expressed by Donald Trump over the last year. I read yesterday that Mike Pence believes smoking is good for you. From a liberal perspective there is all sorts of craziness emanating from Trump Tower right now. But this is not the Rush Limbaugh radio show but the domain of the future President.

One can say this stuff coming out of Trump Tower isn't serious. How can anyone believe this stuff? But there are a lot of people like Muleman in Trump Tower and they will soon be running the country. I am sure you would agree that is a very serious development. You do realize that the US, and by extension the rest of the world, is going to be run by a cadre of folks who do not believe in evolution and who are very doubtful about the principles of science in general.

After watching the Trump twitter machine I think "troll" is no longer a useful construct. We now live in a troll dominated world and the new discourse is Trump speak.

At first I believed we were doomed. Slowly I have picked up on small little tidbits here and there that indicate that we might be okay in a Trump defined universe.

As you see the need to dispense advice I will as well. BoytonBrother you need to evolve. You need to realize that the customs and habits typical of the world you grew up in are today totally irrelevant. What has happened is a mutation has entered our midst that has irrevocably altered our lives. We no longer live in a serious world.

Swifty, that's not what I meant. There are several conservative Trump supporters here who I do not consider trolls, conversely there are liberals here that I do consider trolls. But I guess we see them differently.

You nailed it! That is a good thing, maybe the first time I have seen this in my lifetime. I don't like Trump, but I consider his election a healthy sign that America is still a free democracy and that voting works. If Hilary got elected there would be that nagging doubt that the whole thing was staged, as I have felt in every single election I have seen.

What's cool about Trump is that he was pretty much a third party, Trojan Horse, who infiltrated the Republicans. Hahaha, now the Republicans have to deal with this Frankenstein, believe me, Trump is going to piss them off plenty.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend.
