Super Bowl LI
I'm not ready yet to crown Brady the best ever. Certainly among them, but I always ask how'd they do on an average team with an average coaching staff. Bilichek makes any player play great, so I give most of the credit to him. So many players never reach their full potential because they never find the right system and leader who can develop them properly and give them the right tools and weapons. Brady is among the best ever, but his stats and championships are more about him getting lucky landing with Bilichek. And how many of his Superbowls were 100% fair and square? They recorded opposing teams play call signals for their first 3, then deflate gate versus Seattle, and now he enjoys another only because Atlanta's coach blew it several times in the 4th. Besides, if we are to believe that football is truly a team sport, then we can't use Super Bowl wins as a personal achievement for a QB. I still say Peyton was better all around. No way is he "better" than Elway, Montana, or Marino.

Did you see what Brady did coming back from 25 points. All of his super bowls were won fair and square. Coaches coach and players play. You really have me baffled about your opinion of Brady vs. those other QB's. Montana and Elway should be in the discussion of best all time. Manning and Marino, I don't think so. QB is by far the hardest position in sports to play. The rest of the team follows his lead. The Pat's have the best coach, the best QB, and the best ownership in the league. The Pat's will be the favorite to win next years Super Bowl wit their 40 year old QB.

I totally disagree. Football is a team sport, so any quarterback is going to benefit from his system and situation, so we can only judge what players do with their situations. Favre never would have flourished without Holmgren reaming him out, and then couldn't get back to the Super Bowl without a solid wide receiving corps. Elway couldn't win until he had a solid supporting cast and an MVP running back. Marino put up big numbers, but he never made it back to the big dance. Montana had perhaps the greatest system and cast of his era - half of Bill Walsh's assistants went on to coaching success elsewhere.
Peyton was no doubt great and put up amazing numbers and had a great run, but I'd take Brady in crunch time any day. I can recall several disastrous Peyton playoff games; Brady, not so much. Just look at Peyton's last 2 Super Bowl appearances - against Seattle he was a disaster and against Carolina he was barely a factor (and had been benched for much of the season). Brady has succeeded with several different casts, often unknowns who went on to other teams only to completely disappear. Yes, he's got maybe the best coach ever, but that doesn't take away from what he has done on the field.

If it is the most difficult position to play in all of sports how was Trent Dilfer the QB on a championship team? Would you say he was better than maybe Marino because they didn't win one with Marino? Just throwing that out there.

Dilfer wasn't better than Marino. I don't remember the circumstances of Dilfer's super bowl win, but I'm sure he had a great team around him. You know the saying " any given Sunday". Marino was great. I got to see him twice a year against the Pat's. They had some great teams and usually kicked our butts. With seven super bowl appearances, and five wins, I think Brady is as good or better than anyone who has played the position. Remember, pro sports are about winning.
Not saying anything against Brady. Just not sure QB is the most important position in sports. Maybe. What about the fifth set at Wimbledon? Ninth inning as the closer of game seven of the World Series? Goalie trying to prevent a breakaway in overtime to win The Stanley Cup?
Just saying. QBs get all the kudos if they win and the blame if they don't. 😉

Cutting to the chase, Brady is tops -- at 39, & seeing the tennis reference, seeing those old geezers clear the field in similar fashion as TB, in the recent Grand Slam tournament in Austrailia -- the-bomb -- loved seeing that -- Federer & Rafa
I love seeing all these long-winded wordy posts from guys whose teams haven't won anything since dirt was invented. I don't really read them, just smh. And then there are the guys who take a feeble jab and then disappear until september. Buh-bye...
