I call you out on being a stupid bigot

Substantiate this with a quote that proves this to be true.

I’ll be awaiting your reasons for hating Kamala Harris any day now.

I don't hate anyone. If I were to "hate" anyone I would use that word, in the meantime, infer all you want. Truth is, you can not handle any opinion that differs from yours, hence the phrase "Stupid Bigot"....

You are absolutely charming.

The name Manhattan comes from the Indians, who called them Man with Hat On

That is pretty amazing. The first settlers were Dutch, how did the Indians know how to say "Man With Hat On" in English?

The Dutch called it New Amsterdam (at least he very southern tip) until the English took the bay.

per wiki:

The name Manhattan derives from the Munsee dialect of the Lenape language 'manaháhtaan' (where 'manah-' means "gather", '-aht-' means "bow" and '-aan' is an abstract element used to form verb stems). The Lenape word has been translated as "the place where we get bows" or "place for gathering the (wood to make) bows".

So the place was already called Manhattan long before Europeans arrived. Makes a lot more sense.

Anyway, if the name of the island were derived from Indians saying "Man With Hat On" after they suddenly forgot their own ancient name for it and changed the name to describe Men With Hats On in their pidgin few words they had just learned from the settlers, it would have been in Dutch, not English. So the Indians would have called the island something more like Manhodop, from the Dutch translation of Man With Hat On: "Man Met Hoed Op".

It was apparently an old joke/word play:

At the first contact and negotiations between the Indians of Hackensack, the Europeans were really ill, probably from malaria, so they were violently retching and vomiting into bags during the meetings, so the Indians named it "Hack-In-Sack".

All it takes is one look at an entire society glued to its computers to figure out it can be mindfracked through this weakness.

People will always find what they are looking for if they look hard enough. The angry left and angry right are all the same - angry people scouring the internet to justify wanting to fight. Muleman, celebs, Twitter personalities, etc.....all a bunch of lost souls looking to fight. There’s a simple way to avoid the dysfunctional circus - stop looking for it.

Cheers on this BrerRabbit and BoytonBrother.

Society knee jerks to everything. Something appears this but is really that. Everyone is so inclined to "like", "hate", "share", "flame" send something viral, be the first, , get the most retweets, make the most outlandish reaction...all for what?

This country is eating itself from within and there is no end in sight.

Prove an opinion? Boy, you really are dumb. Look no further than your above quote. You openly dislike liberals, and don’t even understand why that makes you a bigot. The endless list of minorities you whine about.....all examples for you.

I don't hate anyone. If I were to "hate" anyone I would use that word, in the meantime, infer all you want.

Use whatever word you like. Your targets are obvious.

Truth is, you can not handle any opinion that differs from yours, hence the phrase "Stupid Bigot"....

Awww, poor BIGV is being attacked because his opinion is different. Stop with the bullsh*t. I actually agree with you on several issues. My issue isn’t a differing opinion - it’s just that you are a pompous a$$hole about it,

Cheers on this BrerRabbit and BoytonBrother.

Once in a long while, I make a good point.

Society knee jerks to everything. Something appears this but is really that. Everyone is so inclined to "like", "hate", "share", "flame" send something viral, be the first, , get the most retweets, make the most outlandish reaction...all for what?

Modern technology allows us to view every negative story on a daily basis to the palm of our hand. And not even negative news stories...we even get the negative stories of every American citizen with a smartphone and a social media account. Back in the days of traditional media, we read the news, then were disconnected from the rest of the world, which was a good thing.

This country is eating itself from within and there is no end in sight.

This was always an issue that was contained, until 2 years ago when Trump came along and intentionally fed the country to itself after Obama tried to bring it together. But the thought of a black man doing good things was just too much - just my opinion.

They do not embody MAGA. They probably do not even know that Indians were here before the colonial settlers came and then began slaughtering them to take all the land for themselves. If they were good people they would have worked with the Indians and settled in unsettled areas and shared the land, but we know the history of what happened. Nobody would say well the Europeans should have adapted their lives to Indian cultures and customs, it was possible because of the vastness of the country for everyone to settle in lands and be at peace with their neighbors. But what happened, we got them drunk and bought Manhattan for a paltry sum and than the evilness set in from there. The name Manhattan comes from the Indians, who called them Man with Hat On when referring to the colonialists who wanted to negotiate with them, but when they did not make treaties that were pleasing to them, that's when the colonialists introduced the Indians to alcohol and took advantage of them....

Gina, they and their Parents ARE the MAGA movement, who do think is driving this thing? If You guessed ignorant, bigoted and in this case, severely self entitled individuals, that feel the world was only created for them, You would be correct..........Peace......joe

Joe, blackouts, whiteouts...face paint, body paint happen all the time in sports.

I don't think any of those Georgia Bulldog fans are doing anything in appropriate with their face and body paint.

Maybe some of those kids are racist. Maybe some are not. Just because a student uses face or body paint is not any kind of indication.

I verbally assaulted opposing basketball players when I was in high school. I mean not personal, but yelling "you're going to miss it", "choke", "nice shot". I was an equal opportunity yeller, black, white, male, female.

I'm just saying that showing photos of students in black paint and yelling at a black opposing player is not proof of anything.

I suppose we need a national ban on blackouts at sports venues now and send anyway anyone who shows up in black face paint.

Who knows what actually transpired at the rally, but I can’t judge a teenager. If they were being racist and rowdy, not good, but they are kids. I think the school is primarily at fault for allowing their kids to place themselves in a dangerous situation like that. It’s not about rights - it’s about knowing when to avoid trouble, and the kid said he regrets going. I’m glad he realizes this. Shame on the school. We all have the right to go into the worse ghettos, but we don’t because of the danger.

Well, indeed this whole story was a tricky one and I stayed away for a long time, I am gonna as I always stand behind my statements, no matter how insane, one of the things that complicate this issue is that we are talking about kids, that being said a High School has the authority to set forth protocols and limits as far as how much abuse will be tolerated, conduct, attire etc, the adults parents and teachers possibly need to step up, sounds like especially in this case. I have seen and participated in the severe, but good natured abuse of maior league outfielders at both Comiskey and Wrigley Field, it never did , get racial, personal family wise, or any sexual orientation type abuse, a couple of the verbally skilled players can really make it fun and give right back!..............As Always Much Peace.........joe

By participated, I mean sat and watched and enjoyed, I am not verbally skilled, nor witty enough to jump in on that kinda shiat, can be fun as heck though when done well.

Well, I couldn't stay away, here is the Fellas it appears were the instigators of at least part of this particular incident.
https://www.nytimes.com/2019/01/23/us/black-hebrew-israelites-covington-catholic.html

Maybe if they carried tiki torches and semi-automatic rifles, our good president would deem them "some real fine people" also? Of course these guys are real amatuers, as they haven't killed or even assaulted anyone yet, lame........Peace........joe

Covington Catholic Teen Nick Sandmann Sues 'Washington Post' For $250 Million

Teenager Nicholas Sandmann's family is suing The Washington Post, saying it targeted the Covington Catholic High School student and defamed him for political purposes when it reported on a January encounter on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial between Sandmann and Native American activist Nathan Phillips.

Ted and Julie Sandmann filed the suit on their son's behalf, seeking $250 million in damages — the same amount Amazon founder Jeff Bezos paid to purchase the Post in 2013. Of that amount, the lawsuit is seeking $50 million in compensation for the alleged damage done, while the remaining $200 million in punitive damages would be aimed at punishing the newspaper company.

In their complaint, the Sandmanns say they are asking a federal district court in Kentucky to help them "teach the Post a lesson it will never forget."

Responding to news of the lawsuit, the newspaper's spokeswoman Kristine Coratti Kelly said in a statement to NPR, "We are reviewing a copy of the lawsuit, and we plan to mount a vigorous defense."

The Jan. 18 incident was the subject of a viral video and numerous media reports after, the complaint alleges, a short video of the encounter was initially perceived to be showing Sandmann and other Covington students — many of them wearing red "Make America Great Again" hats — as blocking Phillips' path and mocking him as he beat a drum. Longer recordings of the encounter emerged that gave a fuller picture of how the event developed, including scenes in which the students were mocked by a third group of demonstrators — and ones that seemed to show Phillips had approached Sandmann, not the opposite.

In the days that followed, a national debate erupted over who was in the wrong during the encounter at the Lincoln Memorial, where at least three groups of demonstrators — from the March for Life, the Indigenous Peoples' March and the Black Hebrew Israelites — converged near the end of the day.

Soon, many media outlets were being accused by critics from across the political spectrum of either distorting the incident or of drawing conclusions from incomplete information. (NPR's public editor published a column about NPR's coverage of the incident.)

Sandmann's school, Covington Catholic in Kentucky, initially condemned the students' actions and apologized on their behalf, saying in a joint statement from the Covington Diocese that it would investigate behavior that it saw as contrary to "the Church's teachings on the dignity and respect of the human person."

But last week, the diocese announced that a private detective agency that it hired to investigate the incident had concluded that the Covington students had neither instigated a standoff with Phillips nor made "offensive or racist statements."

The new lawsuit draws on the diocese's inquiry, which was carried out by Greater Cincinnati Investigation.

The lawsuit accuses the Post of publishing seven stories with what it calls a "false and defamatory gist" about the encounter. It also alleges that the Post "contributed to the rampant cyber-assault and cyber-bullying" that was aimed at Sandmann after the story drew national attention.

The 38-page court filing seeks a jury trial to consider the case, including whether the newspaper was motivated by a desire to pursue a "biased agenda" against President Trump and to impugn people who support him.

The lawsuit was filed in a federal district court in Kentucky on Tuesday; on Wednesday morning, Trump sided with the Sandmanns and against the Post, quoting from the complaint and saying in a tweet, "Go get them Nick. Fake News!"

The complaint notes the Post's role in popularizing the term "McCarthyism" during the 1950s — and it alleges that the newspaper "engaged in a modern-day form of McCarthyism by competing with CNN and NBC, among others, to claim leadership of a mainstream and social media mob of bullies" that attacked Sandmann.

Sandmann has said he received death threats and insults in the initial backlash over the incident. The lawsuit accuses the Post of targeting Sandmann "because he was the white, Catholic student" wearing a MAGA cap on his school's field trip to Washington, D.C., to attend the March for Life rally.

While the incident took place in Washington, D.C., the lawsuit was filed in Kentucky, where Sandmann and his family live. Explaining that move, the complaint claims the teenager's home state is where the damage to his reputation is most serious and that the Post also does business there, both online and through subscriptions.

The Sandmanns' legal team is led by L. Lin Wood, who heads a law firm in Atlanta and whose list of previous clients ranges from Richard Jewell, who was falsely accused of being the Olympic bomber, to John and Patsy Ramsey, parents of slain child JonBenét Ramsey. The Kentucky law firm Hemmer DeFrank Wessels is also part of the lawsuit against the Post.
