Wow.  Hardly believing what I'm seeing.  I say that after they started 0-6.  Only team in MLB history to lose their first six games and then win 11 straight at ANY time during the season.  I think you have to have a little luck to win 13 straight and it was on display in win #11.  They entered the bottom of the 9th down 12-10 at home vs. Minnesota.  They did not get ONE hit in the 9th but had a walk off, final was 13-12.  Two walks and two errors, 3 runs scored.  Both of the errors were terrible infield plays by the Twins, plays that you would expect an average high school kid to make.

First baseman Matt Olson has been on FIRE at the plate, hitting .349 so far.  I guarantee you no pitcher wants to face him right now.  Last I looked he already had 6 homers and 15 RBI's.  But the A's have LOTS of good bats all up and down their lineup and the starting pitching has been REALLY good during this streak.  Only Achilles heel:  They do not have an established closer.  Sergio Romo has been around and I saw him get hit REALLY hard the other night.  But overall, hard to argue with 13 straight.  The rest of the bullpen has pitched VERY well and others have rotated through the closer spot.

All that being said, this looks to be a special year.  My buddy and I have decent seats for day games, June 16th Angels and August 4th, Padres.  I want to go to more.

They’re amazing - almost always near the top in the standings, near the bottom in team payroll - no manager gets more out of his team than Bob Melvin

doubling back from 0-6 - not too shabby - didn’t realize they don’t have Khris Davis anymore

@stephen:  Yeah I was surprised when they let Davis go, he was their big stud for several years.  But he had a bad injury, lost his mojo, and just never quite got it back.  I guess they got tired of waiting and they had too many other good bats to replace him with.

Baltimore 8 Oakland 1.  Finally they lose one!  The A's bullpen was VERY bad today, even walked in a run in the 8th.  Doesn't diminish what they just have done:  13 in a row!

Good times in the Bay Area!  Giants are in second place and have been hitting the heck out of the ball.  Great to see Buster, Belt, and Crawford still lighting it up.  GO GIANTS!

@robertdee:  What in HELL does this have to do with my post about the A's winning 13 straight?  The ONLY relation between the two is that they are both about baseball, but even then, that's quite a stretch.  If you want to post something about two former NFL players how about starting a new thread?  But this is typical of you though, completely changing the subject.
