NBA 2023-24

Lotta new faces - how will Kristaps & Jrue Holiday fit in w/Celts - Rob, will it play out on the court, as good as it looks on paper, CP III coming in off the bench (when healthy) to complement the tremendous core of Klay, Dray & Curry (Kevon Looney & Andrew Wiggins)
w/Damian Lil now in Mil, could it be Kareem & Oscar II & how do porkchopbob & Bucks fans see their chances -
speaking of III will old friend RW & D’Andre Ayton morph into a force in Porce - here again - great player/misses time w/balky knees - C’s fans say thank you Rob🤙🏀
high-potential merger of talent in Phx w/new Suns backcourt Booker & Beal, but again - great on paper/Frequently Injured, but when both there, could Flourish w/KD & new center/underrated veteran Jusuf
shoot - no Ja or Steven Adams, & even w/Marcus, Memphis is sunk - too bad he had to go into that situation
promising no hockey in this thread

This is the one I wanted to test, not the other one, post was lifted off this thread in Feb or so🥱 - Kristaps & Jrue H turned out to be great fits for us
Al Horford will be on the 2nd of his 2 year contract in 2024-25 - all these players fleshed out Jays/Jayl just super this year - coach Maz called it “a team w/out ego”
may it remain intact for at least next year
🏀The Boston Celtics🏀 - color, green, floor, parquet, titles, 18, 2023-24 season, Top O’ The Heap bro, Ya😁
Cooz, Satch, Nellie, all the alums love it
Bob Cousy & George Mikan were the first NBA ‘superstars’ - they paved the way

Damn - the things you learn - 2 of the all time greats - some would say greaTEST - in their sports
182 years worth & still bouncing
& didn’t know until recently they have the same birthdays
Cooz - wattaguy - 96 today - most xclnt summer enjoying title #18
& the Rocket:Igenuflect: Rod Laver, 86 today - was lucky enough to see the Rocket play when the tournament came to Boston
word
Rod Laver was from another planet the year he won the Grand Slam in ‘69 - no tennis player could touch him - it was like that basically from late 60s-early 70s but esp that Grand Slam year
was a big Rocket fan - Cooz too & still am of both - happy birthday you two badasses🏀🎾

RIP Al Attles - everyone remembers the 1975 finals - a 4 game sweep over opposite # KC Jones & heavily-favored Wash
& as a player, a top PF - a Warriors immortal

Kristaps returns tonite - we’ve won 14 of our first 17 w/out him - he’s a p/t player & as great as he is offensively, if he prioritizes his energy on D during his limited stints - this would be where the team’d be most effective imo
Kristaps is this generation’s Rik Smits, the great 7-3 Pacer - welcome back big guy, are we about to roll or what🏀we’re in green, league is green w/envy, also ups - Cleverie, I mean Lake Erie in Cleve, fast start
No Kawhi for Clips, shockah - forget that, ramalamaMoBam, 1/2 of BambaBamayado - resting - we’ll take it (Moe Bamba)
we don’t know anything, just that they’re good
in short, look out NBA, we’re poised to burn the league down
Kristaps, Rik & all twin towers hope Chet Holmgren’s injury won’t be long-term - a hip fracture to a 7-1 string bean is bad news - they’re calling it an “iliac” hip fracture - crummy break for him, he’s only 22

Odd trade - Mavs must have felt they had to bite on it w/Lively out an extended period even tho they have Gafford, Powell & a reserve 7 footer, Kylor
don’t see records of either team changing drastically but who knows - LeBron & Luka could be as fun to watch as he & AD were - like Jokic & Westbrook on Denver, LeBron & Luka could both approach triple doubles every night - however, the trade principals, AD & Luka, are both injury-prone
Mavs will be waxed in Cleveland this afternoon - then tip-off tonite in Phila, nuf said - let’s go Celts, we never look past anyone, Much Less Sixiz, Joel Embiid or no Joel Embiid - he & Lively have been/will be out a spell, & it’s showed in their teams’ records
Memphis is quietly burning the league down - Marcus Smart has vanished in Memphis - missed most of last year, same so far this year - Celts fans love you Marcus
right now, Memphis-NYK would be good bet for finals

Mavs supposedly are offering refunds for trading Luka
also read that Luka had purchased a $15M home in Dallas just days b4 the trade
LeBron thought it was a hoax when he first heard
talk about a trade that makes no sense - no one seems happy about it
both players are injured - Dallas visits tmrw
Bucks score landing Kuzma, he should help them - Middleton was there a long time - but, like so many of his peers, a good player, & injured often
mayb GSW thinks Jimmy will replace some of those points they lost when Klay went to Mavs - Butler could definitely help them

“Luka experiment could thrive if Doncic is Batman, LeBron Robin”
current headline - remark, nonsense - the experiment will thrive if Hayes or their other Cs play D & rebound - & he ain’t Elvin Hayes either
LeBron & Luka will have an equal hand in it
in the meantime Davis will be out for awhile - Without Him, They Smoke Us In Our Gym - then we smoke NYK at MSG -
Very Screwy, but we’re just lookin at that Sunday matinee w/them after the break - that has to be, Top Form Time for the fans boys - there’s no good reason for the inconsistency, esp at home
when the dust settles LA will be biggest overall trade beneficiary - if AD returns-healthy Dallas should benefit equally long-term
for now, Mavs stand pat at best but watch out when Anthony and Dereck return - their other 2 Cs, Gafford & Powell, are also injured
…..Jimmy Butler & GS, who knows/school’s out depending on injuries etc (currently Kuminga) - they visit Dallas Wed, Hou Thurs
lets go Celts
