Races will go on without spectators, same for the PGA.

Bummed that there won't be any March Madness & the NHL playoffs are in limbo.

I had tickets for the Texas race end of March. Sold them on stubhub as the whole trip got nixed with my friend's cancer treatments. The buyer has the tickets but I don't get paid until 3-5 days after the event. If they race fanless for more than these 2 races I don't know what will happen, stubhub will reimburse the buyer I assume and I'd have to seek refund from Ticketmaster.

"NASCAR has decided to postpone the race events at Atlanta Motor Speedway this weekend & Homestead-Miami Speedway next weekend. We believe this decision is in the best interest of the safety & well-being of our fans, competitors, officials and everyone associated with our sport.”

Sang's not even playing this year!

I am Full Can of Sunoco Racin Fuel !

You'll be there at the end Dan I'm sure if you stick with it, assuming we get back to racing at some point. My friends Crazy Racin and Howard Stern's Butt should stay in it and be competitive throughout. cmgst34 is a new player from the forum here, hope he'll provide good competition. Crowster ll is my neice, she got lucky at Daytona, but isn't any kind of threat, I don't think my other friends will end up doing that well either and some of them will probably stop playing at some point which always happens.

I watched a little of the iracing today.

It is like a video game in a way. Drivers past and present have an at home a race simulator and they race the track with other drivers. It was mildly entertaining. Real announcers commentate. The wrecks are a little lame, but funny.

I think it would be fun to let some gamers compete in this video game

People make mistakes and they have to suffer the consequences that come.

The whole usage of the N word...it's ok when it's used in comedy. It's ok when it's used in movie dialogue. It's ok when it appears in music. Over the course of my life, the word has been normalized by others that continue to use it to suit whatever intention they have, and that seems ok; yet when it is used outside of these seemingly acceptable forms you might as well be crucified for it. Another topic for another day.

Indeed! Better view point! I honestly think he figured he was hanging with his Buddies, and became over exuberant! That term needs to be scratched! I will stand by the names I called him, as I have to even when wrong, he probably ain't what I called him!! Though costing himself 5-10 million dollars was not a swift move......admitting here to occasionally being wrong, but usually never sorry..........joe

Speedway Motorsports, LLC announced Wednesday that it has laid off 180 employees across its facilities and furloughed another 100 employees due to the coronavirus pandemic. Approximately 15% of Speedway Motorsports’ overall staff was affected by the job cuts that took place Tuesday and Wednesday.

About one third of the staff at Texas Motor Speedway was let go, according to the Fort Worth-Star Telegram.

The restructuring at the speedways follows pay and job cuts at NASCAR, as well as individual teams. In late March, NASCAR announced 25% pay cuts for executives and 20% pay cuts for other employees.

an example of how the words is used is through video games

My son plays an NBA through XBox and you can play anyone that's online. The players online, even if they don't know, speak through their headset as if they all "bros". It isn't uncommon for a black guy to tell say the a white guy "damn nigga you got me" or such. Therefore its easy to become used by everyone.

I've heard that about "gamers", the word is used commonly.

Even in real games, you ever watch an NBA game where they mute the audio briefly? Could be any curse word, although there is a pretty famous moment with Kevin Garnett that was caught with him coming up to his teammate, might've been Paul Pierce where he says "myyyy n...a".

The usage of the word is just so widespread and accepted in some ways, but then there is all this outcry on the other hand, it's like people are in denial how much the word is used. Either everyone stop saying it or stop banning people who do say it.

Yes, among black dudes it’s accepted as non-hateful slang & jive talk, & that’s cool
It’s when whites use it hatefully in a denigrating way that it becomes abhorrent - the n word to me & most other friendly people is abhorrent & a swear word
So it has 2 different meanings to 2 different cultures (imo) - obladi oblada

Ryan Newman ready to race.

Matt Kenseth to replace Kyle Larson.

Speculation is NASCAR will return to live racing at Darlington May 17. After that we may see a double header Wednesday - Sunday Charlotte race and a Bristol Wednesday 5/27 race.

That was misinformation. Goodyear started making their commercial fleet tires again, but not race tires yet.

Not a strong race for DanB! Sneaky pick for Kenseth though, hasn't been in a cup car for a year and gets in with no practice, no qualifying...into somebody else's car for a team he's never raced with and scores a top ten! That's a driver right there.

How about Jimmie wrecking from the lead on the final lap of stage 1!

And Ricky Stinkhouse wrecking on lap 1 of the race!

Will be interesting now to see the quick turnaround at the same track what teams improve. Penske didn't run well. Harvick won, but SHR wasn't great, although they never really are outside of Harvick. Hendrick was strong, even with 48 and 24 wrecking - those were good cars and placed the other two in the top 5. Chevy overall was pretty good. Gibbs cars as a team probably performed the best, with KY being the exception. Bad day for him. Was running top 10 before an unscheduled pit stop put him a lap down near end of the race. KY not a happy boy I'm sure.
