You might remember I recently posted my utter disdain for the u.s senators, reps and legislature here in RI, all Dems. I just lump her in with that disgust. I hate the liberal mindset. Nauseates me.

Just how the Founding Fathers intended.

I hate the liberal mindset.

What is that, exactly, the liberal mindset?

Political junkie that you are and you don't know? There's no "exactly", as im sure you're aware. I'm not sure why you've got a hair across your ass concerning me but I don't care.

It’s just a question. You using the word “hate” in any context is so out of character I felt compelled to ask.

Anyone who missed animosity between posters should be pleased to see it return.

As to the report itself, Mueller accepted the ridiculous notion that a sitting president can't be indicted and therefore, chose not to pursue the textbook obstruction charges. The No Indictment is based on an internal DOJ memo; it has no constitutional or legislative basis. It's just a bureaucratic construct that has never had judicial review. Yes, having it go through the judicial process would be time-consuming & theoretically distracting to a sitting POTUS performing his duties, but given the easy distraction & short attention span of the current POTUS it wouldn't present a practical problem.

It's an issue worthy of judicial resolution given the severity of the charges. Otherwise, there's no sanction or deterrent for criminal conduct by future presidents. Yes, charges could be brought after a 4 or 8 year term, but that is counter to the very nature of criminal cases - witnesses & evidence may not be available at that time. Further, it violates the defendant's right to a speedy trial.

Perhaps states investigating Trump's other criminal actions will be less inclined to follow a DOJ memo & charge him if they have sufficient evidence.

I have zero faith in the 2020 ballot box - in the ability of the dems to present a viable candidate or for indifferent & jaded voters to even bother to make it to the ballot box.

"...ability of the dems to present a viable candidate or for indifferent and jaded voters to even bother..."

Welcome to RI. For the umpteenth time why I "hate" the liberal...philosophy, for lack of a better word. The numbers here are so pathetic they're staggering. And we're a state of one million people. Every or most, economic indicator has us near or at the bottom of the list of rankings. Three examples: 42% of our budget is on government assistance programs, we're 50th in infrastructure, 45th in business friendly. The list goes on and on (and also depends on the source). Democratic governor/mayor of Providence (a hard liberal/borderline socialist.) Both U.S. Senators libs, both U.S. reps libs, state legislature overwhelming majority libs.
I don't know if it's bribery, coercion, empty promises, I'm not sure but " vote for me, I'll take care of you" or "if I vote for you will you take care of me" is alive and well here in RI. That's the only barometer I use to gauge political climate. It's where I live.

Happy Easter!

I was watching TV today and saw good old Rudy, the prez's mouthpiece say this. If he said it, it must be good for America?

Rudy Giuliani: 'There's Nothing Wrong With Taking Information From Russians'

I was watching TV today and saw good old Rudy, the prez's mouthpiece say this.

Guiliani who said ages ago that everyone in the Trump Campaign except Trump was talking to Russia back when the official story was that no one in the campaign had ever heard of Russia. He needs to shut up now. The report is out & his pronouncements are pointless.

The most disturbing thing about the Mueller report is that it confirms in detail that a HOSTILE, FOREIGN government interfered in the US democratic election. The intelligence community has been talking about that since before the inauguration & still, there's no movement to prevent it happening again. I think there was a thread here about what could be done & isn't. I guess we're to expect a recurrence in 2020.

Unless someone steps up, expect more of the same. Experts have indicated it's still happening. Why would Trump step up? He's petrified of having his election seem illegitimate - a major blow to his ego. He could use a little help from bro Putin in his quest to be a two-term prez. With any luck, Trump will pardon Manafort in time for Manafort to work again with the Russians in sharing polling data. After all, a campaign has got to think big.

On the other hand, who will Trump get to replace Julian Assange. Trump loved Wikileaks until he claimed to know little of that partner of Russia when Assange was kicked out of the Ecuadorian Embassy.

Just can't get enough foreign participation in our elections.

GOP or Dem, I don't think ANYONE should accept that our election was tainted by another government. Substitute ANY other country for Russia no matter how far fetched & it's still bad. We don't want Germany, China, N. Korea, Canada, Iceland or Monaco mucking around in our elections. It's shameful that we accept it.

We've lost perspective of democracy in general & US government in particular due to our narrow focus on single social issues & blind following of "personalities." smh

Pardon my naivete.

I'm not and never have been a Trump supporter, but how do you suppose that the Russians were able to turn enough votes to hand the election to him. I don't see it.

The Democratic party ran a hugely flawed and unpopular candidate against a carnival barker and lost. Pretty fucking simple.

You don't think that people who are not up on issues and are not truly aware of a candidate's positions can't be easily swayed by propaganda enough to tilt a few thousand marginal electoral votes in a state to make a difference?

All of our intelligence, and the FBI, provided details on how and why they did this.

Based on this comment, it seems like the Russians’ efforts are still working. You say “I don’t see it”, then mention the “hugely flawed and unpopular candidate.” That’s how the Russians succeeded.....they convinced you that Hillary is “hugely flawed and unpopular”, despite winning the popular vote and her extensive experience. All politicians are flawed and unpopular with half the country, but the Russians convinced you that those flaws were specific to only Hillary.

Brer started a thread asking for specific reasons why Hillary was hated or flawed, and nobody had an answer. Not one single person could provide a reason why she is so awful. Nobody knows why - they just KNOW she’s the worst.

Sounds to me like the Russians launched a brainwashing campaign and it worked.

Don't know if they were able to turn one vote. We do know that they interfered.

I would've thought that the commie-hating Party of Reagan would care about that, but since they hate liberals more than they hate Russians, no one cares.

They launched it during the Obama administration and he did nothing.

Then he is guilty of not doing anything about it.

What's been done about it since?

According to the report, they DID turn at least one county in FL. The county name was redacted.

You can't seriously expect posters on a music site to explain the process that has been covered by hundreds of books, special media reports, interviews, and court documents. This is an enormous breach of our security & threat to democracy that will be examined as part of American history for decades to come.

No. No one cares. Does that include Congress? I get in on you guys' political ummm, "discussions" for sh!ts and giggles but mostly lurk just to learn stuff. (I've said this many times, this is my only source of info, I'm otherwise apolitical, aside from hating the liberal mindset)I try to cast a relatively informed vote every two years but no, I don't care. I've had 4 heart attacks. I care about very little. Doctors orders.

Probably get better info from Trump's back door - seems to be some pretty heavy Russian action there.

For the third but I'm sure not the last time, appreciate you not posting the visual.

Our government identified a hostile foreign threat to our election, a massive investigation ensued (conducted by some of the smartest people in our country), and concluded that Russia was successful in helping Trump win. But according to you, you don’t see it, and it’s “pretty f-ing simple” that Trump won because of the Democrats mistake with a “hugely flawed” candidate. Who is the one being derisive? And I won’t hold my breath on how she’s any more flawed than any other candidate.

How do you figure? He setup the wiretap that started the Mueller investigation that led to dozens of indictments. It was Obama that started the whole thing.
