“If we had confidence that the president clearly did not commit a crime, we would have said that,” Mueller said at a press conference at Justice Department headquarters in which he also announced his resignation. “A President cannot be charged with a federal crime while he is in office. That is unconstitutional. ... Charging the President with a crime was therefore not an option we could consider.”
“Effectively what Bob Mueller said is we had evidence that [Trump] committed a crime, but we couldn’t charge him because he’s the president of the United States,” Napolitano said on the Fox Business Network following the news conference.

The Trump administration is quick to discredit pretty much anyone, I guess I'm not surprised his supporters would quickly attack Mueller rather than parse his words. It's interesting, and sometimes disappointing, what people choose to believe without question.
Did you find Mueller's Team to be unbiased and above board, I did not. 18 hired guns with all barrels aimed at one target for one purpose. Nary a flesh wound? Loads of gun shot noise, but not one strike.
When did the interviews end? When did they know our president or any American was not involved in the Russian's multi headed scheme? Adam Schiff is on tape trying to get pictures of "naked Trump". Hello!! that's more collusion than Don Jr having a Trump Tower meeting that was made possible by political enemies. Didn't the Russian chick meet with SimpsonGPS folks pre and post meeting? Popadopalus had a story planted by a spy with an agenda and then attempted to be confirmed by a 2nd plant with an agenda. Honey traps? These are not statements from Trump. They're politically motivated and engineered events. If it was known to be a fraud after 6 months why was it dragged out til after the mid term elections? This is all Mueller and his Merry Men. Past crimes got Manafort and Cohen. To pay a prostitute hush money is not clean, but who made out? Isn't that paying twice to be screwed once? We all see what kind of cat Michael Avenetti was. Fits right in over there. I'm an Independent and am looking for a candidate with reason, common sense, and some math skills.
The whole anti-Trump thing is being viewed with blinders on. Loads on questionable Congressional Leadership being purposely overlooked. We need Rowdy Roddy Piper glasses to see the players and their actions here.
It's in vogue at the moment and some people like to be stylish no matter how stupid they look.

Mueller is a Republican, appointed by a Republican. I think he set out and conducted a fair investigation. Given people like Barr and Deven Nunes using everything in their power to stop or bury the investigation, I think it was conducted in as unbiased manner as possible, certainly more than the Ken Starr investigation. It is painfully clear that Trump supporters don't want to know what happened and don't care how dirty Trump and his administration are. So much whining about this investigation, yet the GOP would start yet another Benghazi investigation if they thought they could do political damage.
We need voter ID's in this country.
Absolutely and now
If voter ID is so critical, than should we eliminate voting by mail? It seems there has been more fraud related to voting by mail than at the actual polls, just look at the North Carolina 9th District for an example, or do you not care about that one since it was Republicans trying to rig the election?
Link?

I could take a Xanax and a vacation. It's all good. To compare Benghazi investigation to this farce of American collusion with Russia is nonsensical. 4 Americans were slaughtered. An Ambassador stripped, raped, burnt, and beaten to death. Pleas for security went unanswered. A special security meeting ensued and what did the Obama Administration do? They had a response team load up and get ready, then told them to stand down, then change into regular clothes, no wait, another good point at the meeting, perhaps they should wear Military clothes, OK do that, wait, we don't want to rile the crowd, change clothes again, wait stand down they're dead. An absolute disaster. Proud and brave men died. It wasn't a DNC email hack. Folks died violently while a political correctness meeting took place in the situation room. I guess the fast and furious investigation was also open and fair to the slain border patrol agent. Eric Holder covered up for his wingman while Nadler and the rest fought to keep everything sealed, No Transparency whatsoever.
I am not a Republican, I support Team America and my QB at the moment is Donald J. Trump. I am a proud independent who likes to see and judge for myself. I have issues with our government. I think it's crazy that the Congress that wants to be overzealously moral when it fits their narrative. Release all the Congressional hush money payout info. Who did what, why the need to pay off, and who did what to who?
The governmental leaks are outrageous. Presidential phone conversations with foreign leaders. FBI getting Knick tickets @MSG for front page story fodder and it's allowed? Bradley Manning and Michael Avenatti considered political office runs, Heh heh, Crazy times. American values my ass.
I'm getting older and value my time. I used to love late night TV, Johnny Carson, Letterman, Saturday Night Live. I can't stomach any of them anymore. Just unfunny political nonsense. Platform shoe-boy Deniro films.... Gone. Jim Carrey the cartoonist? what a bozo..... Gone. ESPN gave Bruce Jenner the most courageous female award.... Gone. I haven't watched or missed the programming in the least. Hollywood promotes vulgarity and violence. Women's sports are done, they've been invaded by insanity. Empty minds are molded by trashy extremes. Way too many quality time kills to indulge in for my golden years to be lost in liberal lunacy.

I've never seen any. By the way, I'm not actually against voter ID at the polls, but I still think it is a solution to a problem that doesn't exist.
But as for voting by mail, they verify the ballot based on the signature, which is exactly what they do when you sign for a ballot at the polls. No difference. So why can you receive a ballot and return it in the mail without showing an Id?

Whether you are a Republican or not you still show a pro-Republican bias.If you could just read what you are saying with a critical eye you would laugh at yourself. You are talking about values while supporting a man who cheated on his wife with a porn star, who has admitted to grabbing women by the pussy on tape, who walked in a dressing room full of teabag girls, who mocked a disabled reporter, who lies on a daily basis, who used his charity as an illegal slush account going as far as paying his son's $6 registration fee for Boy Scouts with it. He is a vial piece of garbage and the ultimate embarrassment to this country, and the sooner that he is gone the better. I usually can get along with anybody, but I have a hard time respecting anybody who can defend Trump. The man has no redeeming values, none!

My "proof" comes from the time when I lived in California. I could walk into my polling place and point to my name and then sign and vote. One year, out of curiosity after voting in my designated poll, I was driving down the road in a bordering neighborhood and noticed an American Flag near a church that signaled another poll was located inside, I parked, went in an informed them that I had left my I.D. at home and asked if I could just sign by name. I was told "No problem, yes" and could easily have voted again merely by reading a name upside down and adding a signature that was not me beside it....
I guess I am done hearing how the country is going down the toilet, when the air is better, food is better, balance between sexes and races better, not great but better, we aren't huffing lead, choking on cigarette smoke on airplanes, society more sensitive to folks with special needs, and on and on. Every era has its problems.
Also done hearing extreme right wing reactionaries hollering left wing bloody murder at everything slightly left of center or progressive. It is bullsh!t. Fact is, the vast majority, left included, are pretty darn square, and are normal folks just lving their lives.
And the leap from Mueller to Springbreakers was flat out surreal. For someone who says they don't pay attention to TV you sure are an expert on the details. Ive never seen those shows, and didnt watch that crap in the 70s or 80s either I was too busy living.

So you then voted again using someone else's name and were able to match their signature? Or someone had already voted using your name? Or your army of Russian Boogeymen voters had?
No?
Well, that's means it might be possible, but not that it wouldn't be found out when the actual voter showed up or your signature didn't match. It's not proof. This is called "anecdotal", at best.
Here are some actual stats regarding voter fraud and how rare it actually is.

Exactly. Every generation has those cranks who look at their own youth through rose-tinted glasses and think the current youth is dragging the world into the apocalypse. Every single generation. Not there aren't select things that have not improved or gotten worse, but overall the world improves as we seek to identify and solve problems and understand each other since we are mostly pretty similar. Sure, the Dodgers moved, Carson is dead, but we fixed the hole in the ozone, Congress is more diverse and representative, and many people don't have to live their lives in the shadows for fear of arbitrary hate. Discussion is great, but the reactionary response here to Mueller's brief press statement seems to miss the point entirely.
So you then voted again using someone else's name and were able to match their signature? Or someone had already voted using your name? No?
No, I did not vote twice or three times or four, but the point is, anyone can. There was no verification of signature at the time, just a printed name that you signed next to.
Voter I.D. should be mandatory. Are there citizens out there who lack the intelligence required to obtain I.D.?

Signatures are often matched after the fact to keep lines moving or burden volunteers. Your false ballot very likely might have been rejected later, or scrutinized after the actual citizen came to vote. You're assuming nothing happens after the ballot is cast. Also, it's not "proof" because you have no evidence that this actually happened. It's just a thing you think.

I guess it's easier to preemptively dismiss rather than to reasonably discuss.

Do you have kids? I have 2 and I am always on Daddy Duty. Well less now as they're grown. My daughter is 24 and my son 25. It's insane what our children are introduced to at young ages. I mentioned things that I was concerned with directly like that movie. My little girl was watching it and I turned it off. I wouldn't allow my son to play Grand Theft Auto or buy the game as a gift. He said how every one of his friends had the games he'll just play it over there. More and more of everyday programming contains vulgar or violent content. I don't think kids that are 10 years old should lose their innocence. Folks used to just live their lives naturally learn of love and empathy, success and failure, right and wrong, nowadays you're told/shown what emotions you should feel, You should be angered and outraged. You should feel owed. No more valedictorians, Everyone gets an A no matter how little you put forth. I'm a blue collar union donkey, Hee haw, I bust my ass and put in my hours to make it all happen for me and mine. Part of the flaws with being in a union is where I take pride in my work and make things happen, a slug who does half the work and does it rather poorly gets the same exact pay and when a bad job comes up with ugly circumstances who gets it. The slug will get rewarded with soft work that won't haunt anybody. My lost point was efforts should be rewarded, not everyone gets a trophy, those who strive to achieve actually do achieve. I overthink things and obviously I overshare and that gets me in trouble.
I'm always busy living, Always counting my blessings and not my curses. Life is good.
quote:The proof is that I hate traitor's and especially liars You must have REALLY hated Obama!
You do not really believe that I would have made a statement like that without knowing the actual facts, do you?
As I stated in my post a lie here and there is understandable, however when you compare Obama's 18 lies in 8 years vs. over 10,000 in two and 1/2 years I would say one is not comparable to the other.
Did you see his lie filled rant from this morning before he left for Colorado? Of course you did, however did you fact check any of it? Of course you didn't. So you just continue to suck all his lies up buttercup sooner or later you will be choking on it too.
FYI, there was a lie filled post going around back in the day of 50 lies that were told by Obama that have all been fact checked and debunked by Snopes so if you come back with that one I have already researched that as well.
On Obama's maternal side he has more skin in the game than Trump, at least he can trace his family's service to our country. Did you know he is even distantly related to Dick Chaney and Liz Chaney? Of course not that would require some fact checking on your part. "The Trumps" generations upon generations of patriots, you should do some research on that as well, but of course you won't!
fretsman's original rant is a perfect example of why it doesn't make sense to allow yourself to get worked up over politics and political figures. i imagine he was unhappy with Obama, and now he is still unhappy under Trump. liberals were unhappy under Obama because of Fox News and the right's attacks on him, and now Trump supporters are unhappy that democrats make it difficult for him.
unhappy when your guy is in power, and unhappy when he isn't. some folks are just unhappy and choose to play the scapegoat game. it is my hope that people evolve from this in my lifetime.
Well said. I would hear people groan about Obama and claim he was "the worst President" yadayada and they were easy to dismiss because they couldn't express beyond FOX News platitudes as to why they thought so strongly. The script is definitely flipped now, and people who roll their eyes at Trump can't use the same broad CNN strokes that Obama detractors blindly used. Which is difficult when the fog of information, opinion, and continuous discrediting in the face of opposing opinion is exactly what this Administration has itself repeatedly done.
If Trump is our QB, well, at least you could bench Ryan Leaf.
From the moment he picked an all Democrat Attack Team to compile his "unbiased" investigation to his BS little news conference today. AG Barr is in Alaska visiting troops, Trump is retrurning from Japan, and Congress is out.
This Jack-ass is a stain on the Dept Of Justice. He needs to be subpoenaed to answer many questions about his handling of this mockery of justice. He needs to answer why he didn't chose a bipartisan group for this so called bipartisan investigation. When did he know that the whole basis was fraudulent. If he knew after a year that it was an empty argument why did he drag it out past the mid term elections? We got the gifts of Rashida Talib and Ilhan Omar being sworn into an American Political office with hands on the Quran a book that promotes killing infidels (such as Americans), raping and enslaving the infidels women and children? Has anyone in the "unbiased" media ever questioned them on Sharia Law and their stances on such violent beliefs? Another rhetorical question.
The collusion was with him and his Democratic cronies to drag it out and paint a negative picture out of an empty art set.
If he was once an honorable American, he lost that honor with this fiasco. I'm sure all of his chosen hacks were in touch with the Democrat's all along and this was a guided undertaking to lead the sheep. Push the safe space trophies for all crowd to put on vag' hats and march the streets. Decriminalize crimes and bring the whole world to America to have free everything while our once great and proud nation turns into a cesspool. Feces and needles will replace the stars and stripes. In a country that now seems to value victimhood over accomplishments we're creating more victims and less drive to succeed. Our national birth rates decline as folks choose a life of foreplay over conventional family.
The same sheep that profess to protect the planet dump trash in the streets and parks as they pour used motor oil down the toilet, they profess peace and tranquility yet cover their faces and attack innocent fellow Americans as they brag that they punched a Nazi? Gender is an empty word. Reality is ignored when it comes to Men and Women, pick a bathroom no problem, Little Suzie is in there, but if it traumatizes her so what? There are so many issues that were once no brainers, but are now issues because of the no brainers. Pollution, crime, and immorality are the new ideals.
Violence and perversion is fed to our youth through movies, games, and media. I watched the movie Kingsmen and it is an action movie tailored for most ages and at the end some Princess of another country says she's give up her "bum" if the guy saves the world? So anal sex is a mainstream promotion? The movie Springbreakers has teenage girls involved in massive drug use, crime, and lesbianism. My kids are 25 and 26 and it was bad when they were preteens and teenagers. Grand Theft Auto Vice City lets kids beat up, shoot up, kill, and run over cops and prostitutes? Is it a wonder there is so much sexual dysfunction or rampant shootings? Moral decay doesn't start or end with the President, it starts in boardrooms and corporate meetings. Family values and faith are frowned upon. Somebody somewhere is building an ark.
Trump is not the perfect man, that in itself is an understatement, but he is the elected President Of The United States during turbulent times. He is fighting for the country in matters that are important. North Korea, Iran, Russia, & China are problems that he is attempting to address. He isn't hosting concerts at the White House once a month, he's engaging in the country's needs not his own.
We need term limits ASAP. It most likely will never happen, but to have a brain dead core of morons leading the country is disheartening. If there's no term limits forthcoming there should be an age limit. Nadler was out of it the other day, He looked like a decrepit Captain Pike from Star Trek, maybe we should prop his dopey little ass in chair and give him lights to answer yes and no. When Diblasio has to save the day when you're in la la land and then stating it was a dehydration issue is the cover up. Put that fool out to pasture. You want to become a millionaire in America? Go to a coastal liberal state and run for Democratic office. Nancy, Chuck, Schiff, Cumnmings, Green, and the rest should be out of Government, for the sake of the Country.
Mueller is just a tool. He was never looking to be fair and just. His choices and deeds make that abundantly clear. May Karma chew up and spit out his filthy little soul. Just a cog in the wheel that is ruining a once level headed, proud, and just nation.
We need voter ID's in this country. Everyone has sources of income, electric bills, phones, cars, licenses, and so many other identifiers of exactly who we are as Americans. If you want to end the corruption of our voting process that's the only way. Far too many shenanigans are going on. Ballots are being filled in by God knows who, That's what is unamerican and the true threat to true democracy.
Egad you are ignorant.
however when you compare Obama's 18 lies in 8 years vs. over 10,000 in two and 1/2 years I would say one is not comparable to the other.
If Obama only told 18 lies he must have told them a zillion times (yes I fact checked). I appreciate your enthusiasm sweetheart but the notion that our country was better off between 2009 - 2016 is well, ridiculous. Any measure you chose and we are doing better since he left office. We should at least be grateful that he did that for sure. Leave office I mean. Fact check the economy, unemployment, GDP, and on an on and on.
You get to keep the same policy, you get to keep the same doctor, no way the Russians could meddle in our elections and what about all the things he didn't know about until he saw them on the news like Hillary's illegal email scam.

Signatures are checked at the elections office. Obtaining a ballot doesn't mean it was counted any more than fraudulently obtained ballot by mail and sending it in. Again, ballots by mail can be stolen from mailboxes, requested for absentee voting by someone else, filled out by someone else in the household without their knowledge, etc. How is voter ID going to fix this?
Do you have kids?
Yes, single parent Mr. Mom of a stone autistic nonverbal low functioning teenager. I am grateful not to be back in the "good old days" of institutionalization and isolation for people like him, shock treatment all that good stuff.
So I guess you didn't rock out to Midnight Rambler, Sympathy, Brown Sugar, and Bitch until you were over 18. Goody for you mr. twoshoes. Me I was belting out "I'll stick my knife right down your throat, baby and it hurts!" at 12 in jr high rock band. And just like you feel about Grand Theft Auto, my parents hated everything I liked.
God Bless You and your son Sir. My daughter just graduated from Caldwell College and works with kids that have autism. She has a degree in Arts Therapy and is going for her BCBA and Masters on line (Daddy's broke now). She has loads of love in her heart and is patient as a Saint. I was born in '63 in Newark, a poor white child in the ghetto. My family moved around more than gypsies and life hasn't always been kind. I lived full and I've seen more trouble than most. I've paid my dues and survived bad choices. My drunken broken home parents didn't much care about what I saw or didn;te see. My high school years were late 70's and there was no drug I didn't take dancing to the Stones. A gypsy ghetto kid never settles softly and my travels were an education most folks don't get so the Goody two shoes tag will fit better elsewhere.
and Egad how ignorant, C'mon Mike where's the love?

Your post reads like you are against Voter I.D. Why?
Your concern is nice but the frustrations in his original post seem pretty focused on Bob Mueller & the wacky left and he is spot on accurate. The truth is going to come out and there are a lot of people that are not going to be able to resolve their opinions & statements with the facts.
[Edited on 5/30/2019 by KCJimmy]
Yes, they ALL LIE. The media is the worst. If Trump came out and 3 simple statements CNN (and others) would report that he told 5 lies.
thank you. my concerns are real because i was there once too. if you go back and read the post it goes way beyond bob mueller and goes into many different directions. have whatever opinion you want about the left but i stand by my position that to blame society and politics is nothing but an excuse for one's own personal unhappiness. as for "the truth" coming out, i'm curious as to why you believe to know this if we're all just outsiders reading the same online articles?
You can be bothered by society without blaming it for your problems. I read the post and did not get the impression he was blaming anyone for his problems. Venting about things that are important to him, you bet, and more power to him. It is OK to disagree.
As for the truth coming out. I see the same news as everyone else. But a lot of people seem as if they are threatened by the latest news of "investigating the investigators". If the truth is what we all want then what is the problem?

I was referencing this quote directly:
It's interesting, and sometimes disappointing, what people choose to believe without question.
Obviously people on both sides of the political spectrum have their own bias. I'm most speaking to the views voiced at the start of this thread. I think the amount of misinformation coming from this President is negligent.
So, Russians could vote freely without I.D.?
Speaking of. Did this happen? Because actual US citizens who are registered voters have been turned away in states with strict voting ID laws. That's an actual problem. Should we stop unlikely hypothetical Tom Clancy situations (do you think Russians would waster their energy going to polls when they can disrupt by hacking?) or actual real life voting issues? Also, it's not like you didn't have to prove who you were when you went to the polls (you could use an electric bill!), you just didn't need to take the extra extra step of getting another ID every time you moved to a new precinct.
Sorry PorkChopBob, but there ARE certain reasons why someone can be turned away at the polls. Wrong voting location, have not voted in a long time (In Ga. it takes 7 years to remove a non-voter.), moved and haven't registered at your new address, registered-but address can not be verified (a provisional ballot is issued and the voter has several days to correct any mistakes on the registration, if the correction is not made, the vote is turned down.) Felon on parole, non-citizen (legal alien who has not completed citizenship).
To everybody, don't try to bring up the "Kemp purged 307,000 voters" because unlike the majority of news outlets that reported that, the Atlanta Journal Constitution had in their article about how the ones on the PENDING LIST, Kemp declared all on the list were pending, not purged, would be allowed to cast provisional ballots (see above about provisional ballots).

Haha, seriously, Jerry? Sorry but I never said that there aren't reasons people are turned away at the polls. You're talking about people who can't vote or are at the wrong place which is not what I was referring to and not at all the issue. I'm talking about registered voters turned away on small bureaucratic technicalities or overzealous ID laws. You're at the wrong proverbial polling station on this one, read it twice.
…. LOL, my mom finally confessed that when she was a teenager she sneaked out at night to hang out at the jazz club scene on Telegraph Avenue in Berkeley, Brubeck, Davis, Coltrane, and that scene made the 70s rock scene look tame. Beatniks, drunks, junkies they were nuts. And here I caught hell from her for stuff I was up to which was nothing compared to the beatniks.
The beatniks Heh heh, You knew something was happening there with the off key poetry and bongos? As far as the personal unhappiness I have none, It''d be nice if I was prettier and I could sing, but the Lord has smiled down on my dumb-ass in many a way. No matter my plight "Worse things have happened to better people". I judge the times and these are strange times, Historical really, but just not in a good way. Sadly it's like the Keystone Kops meet the Chicago Black Sox and Barney Fife and Otis are Congressmen..
