I have always been an Anything Goes poster, It should've been an all topic inclusive bucket as the name implies. I enjoy the musical banter and like minded love of music.

Over here, It's all about the bitterness, Folks finding a scab to pick at without end.

Why bother? You can't fix what ails some folks.

Just take it as being noticed. Some folks can only respond with mean words, others with jokes and some with truth (there are those here that can't stand that).
If something posted gets to you, just use the old Southern phrase "Bless your heart." Or, as Flip Wilson used to say, "God will get you for that."
Wait thirty minutes, then post a thoughtful reply.

I've been off the board for a while, don't care a whit about soccer, but was surprised to see a very weird turn in this thread. It's summer. Lighten up. When things are really dark in our worlds or the board is screwing w/your head, it's time to get professional help or at least take Bro Rabbit's advice to take a break from the board.

I am a disheartened father of a lesbian. I have 2 kids, 1 boy and 1 girl. I wouldn't wish my heartache on anyone. I'll never cradle her child or walk her down the aisle. I'm just a Dad who will never realize all his dreams. When the road of life should be an endless one. I feel pulling over and parking on the first cul de sac is the agenda of the day.

I'm don't see why YOUR dream of walking your daughter down the aisle or cradling HER child are not going to be realized. Both of your children may or may not get married and have children or not. In either case, adult children realize THEIR dreams of marriage & children for THEIR lives; fulfilling a parents' dream doesn't factor into it. As a practical point, who's to say there would be an aisle? Lots of people get married at a courthouse. I did & in my Jewish religion, both parents walk their SON down the aisle. Neither of my parents seemed to care they missed out on that little 30 seconds of tradition.

Respectfully No, It's not wits and ideas. It's repulsive stupidity and insane anger that I just don't get? If it was wit and ideas I wouldn't feel the way I do after reading post after post by some folks. No logic, no ideas, no wit, empty arguments with vile buffoonery. Disheartened and disconnected am I. The more I get a feel of the people who post here, The more I wonder why I do.

That's a rather insulting statement to make to those of us who post. Most of us don't know each other. Being told we're repulsive, stupid, and insane isn't a good way to promote dialogue. We have a few pot stirrers & humorists but they balance their posts w/ideas for the most part. We're not causing anyone's personal struggles.

Cyclone, as you know, threads in the WP can take some very weird twists and turns. Many times by the end of the first page, it's gone sideways.

Saying that, how ya been lately?

You're right. Summer's my favorite season so I'm enjoying every minute & avoiding the news! Wanted to read about Justice Stevens who I've never forgiven for retiring & worse, spouting off about past & current SCOTUS opinions. The job is for life & if one does leave the club prematurely, one should leave it to the current justices to opine.

Checking in w/the WP, I was surprised to find us collectively bashed as morons, but I'll get over it.

Hope your summer's going well. I'm not getting to a lot of concerts. Mostly local clubs.

"Some" folks isn't a held judgement on "Us collectively". There are "some" posts that spew anger and hatred as if it's contest and a prize will be rewarded, but nowadays everyone gets a trophy, Congrats.

Actually there is no right or wrong here. So you can disagree with Bro Rabbit, but what it amounts to is perspective.

He is giving an open interpretation, and you are offering up a much darker & angry interpretation.

I would disagree with your point on blaming posts on this site for your personal feelings. There are way too many more important sources in life to impact feelings than by posts from people you don't really know.

I have no disagreements w/Brother Rabbit. I used strong words like repulsive after reading thru some of the threads and it seems post after post of phony outrage of racism, fascism, Nazi's, etc. It just seems surreal that the surface of the word isn't even being scratched but the outrage is rampant? I would think with the average age being expectedly higher that the rageometer wouldn't read so high.

I erred with my choices of words and shares. I have stated my regret prior and that still holds true.

Not looking for a trophy, but don't know how "The people who post here" isn't a collective judgment. Just noting there's a lot of anger, hostility & vitriol coming our way. We aren't responsible for what's going on in any poster's life & don't deserve the nasty fallout. Feel free to skip my posts. No response necessary.

Check out the dude in purple? In what world are we?

Just like a leftist, she doesn't want anyone to speak unless they agree with her, and will do the most obscene actions and words to make sure she is heard, and only her.

Not so bad. Got over a small back problem after my vacation (long drives and almost a mile in elevation), then i tried to crank my weed-eater the other day and had to type left handed for a couple of days. Some of my posts since Sunday have been we'll just say, a little under a foggy influence.
Started on building my bridge over the creek bed though.

I believe medical professionals recommend that weed-eaters shouldn't be operated & bridge building shouldn't be attempted under the influence or in the heat. Sit & chill.

Can't. Got to move, or I'll feel worse.

Has the American Way of Life recovered from Rapinoe’s attack yet?

Did it ever suffer anything?

Seemed like we were doing alright, but it must be not-so-great if we have to make it great again.

Ask the guy that started the thread. He seemed pretty upset about this wonton, reckless and treasonous attack on our great country.
