Does anyone else think this woman is a complete fool/tool?
Wasnt aware of her until you brought it up - searched around got the impression she is upset with the current administration. Didnt really see anything that would qualify her as a fool/tool.
She's yet another in a long line of athletes speaking up & protesting Trump's bigotry and misogynistic views. There's a reason so many athletes have skipped a time honored tradition of visiting the White House. Trump has earned the bypasses by being himself. Once he is removed from the White House, hopefully things will return to a sense of normalcy.
same debate about whether observing the anthem at sports events to protest political views is warranted. I am probably in the minority but i dont believe anyone should demonstrate in that manner because it is offensive to so many others who respect what our flag and anthem stand for.
I believe point this in professional sports it is one thing but i believe when you are on a national team representing our country it is despicable behavior. I am not sure who subsidizes the US Women's Soccer Team but i am sure it somehow would be our government similar to olympics and other events our country participates in.
that being said, she should not be allowed to participate IMO if that is how she chooses to behave. Others will differ, I am sure.

Exactly. Just like when those black kids decided to sit at a lunch counter in a Woolworth's that everyone knew was white - totally offensive. I'm with you, they were way out of line and deserved the humiliation they got.
Why can't we just man up grow a spine and be like North Korea and Iran, and teach some respect for our national symbols.

Took a while to boil that down but Im hearing you are ok with the profanity but are offended because she won't put her hand over her heart during the national anthem. Free societies can be frustrating.

When it comes to sports, it's better to keep your mouth shut until after the game (Joe Namath being the exception and Megan Rapinoe is no Joe Namath). If the US women's team wins it all, then Megan can pop off all she wants.
That being said, I wouldn't want to visit the president either. Plenty of better things to do with one's free time.

I's love to take a tour of the Whitehouse, as long as the current occupant isn't home. Besides, if I want a hamberder I can get one somewhere else and with better company.

I haven't been following this that closely. Has she been praising murderous dictators like Putin or Kim Jong Un or something? Has she been insulting American POWs for getting caught? Has she done something to poison American's air and drinking water? I'm curious what she did that was so bad.

I would say quite the opposite BIGV, I would say this woman is courageous and cares about her country a great deal, hence she was able to stand up and express her beliefs, I would say we have another young patriot, willing to stand up against and fight against societal injustice and administrative corruption!!!! Yes, I did find her choice of f words slightly offensive, but only about .0001% as offensive as Trumpty Dumpty, gutting our Nation over the last 3-4yrs and selling it to the Russians??...........Peace........joe

Personally I prefer the song Oh Beautiful for a national anthem, rather than a song embracing war mongering which our national anthem does. But nowadays Oh Beautiful could never become our national anthem because of it's reference to 'God shed his grace on thee, and crowned thy good with brotherhood from sea to shining sea'. God isn't welcomed in America except at Chatom Ford in Alabama.

And even at Ford, the muckety mucks stepped in and wanted them to stop talking about God, guns, glory. Focus more on the hunting aspect, not that people will defend their land, selves property with a nice rifle from Chatom, after they hang their American flag and of course read their Bible once in while. Our national anthem glorifies shooting rockets. If we were not a war like nation, we could have made peace with the Indians, learned a thing or two about farming/agriculture and not polluting the land. Why couldn't we have shared the land with them? Whose way was correct theirs or ours? We're now eating GMO corn and food and those damn mexican vegetables.....
The issue though is should she have pledged allegiance, and I think all citizens have to do that for whatever nation they are citizens of. They don't have to sing along if they don't want to but they should show some respect for where they live.

You are exactly right. And that reason is that they aren't smart enough to think for themselves so they buy into the BS that is constantly spewed by the drive by media. And besides they get all kinds of attention by doing it and they don't even realize that only idiots look up to them for it.

That's quite the condescending statement towards athletes. Give them the credit that they are due. They are certainly as smart and free thinkers as say...those who post on websites. Maybe it's that their position just doesn't align with yours? No need to scapegoat the media.
It's just the impression I get from most of the folks that kneel during the anthem or refuse to go to the White House. I'm sure I'm wrong. I do respect a good soccer player for playing good soccer. Or a good quarterback for playing good football. I have trouble with athletes and actors that think because they're good at what they do any intelligent person will give a rats butt about their politics. It's just their way of protest is often disrespectful to the country to the flag or to the office of the President. That really causes me to respect them less. If you don't want to go to the White House don't go. Why do you need to tell everybody why you didn't want to go? And to further my point why the profanity? That's a good role model for your kids.
