I remember a 60 Minutes segment many years ago about the panhandlers in NYC. Many had MBAs or law degrees and were living in very nice homes in NJ or CT. They drove their BMW's to the city each day to stand on a corner and beg because they made more money doing that than working in an office.

though I've been here 11 years (11 years!) I'm blessed/cursed with a memory like a bear trap and as a result, recall that you're far too cute to stand at some traffic light looking all solemn and forlorn and homeless.

I think the actions of those 2 men were dispicable. Yes, obviously the best scenario is for the homeless to commit to work so they can help themselves and contribute to society. But for those 2 men to think it is that simple, or that they are proving something, is flat out stupid. The only thing they proved is that they are a$$holes.
