Has lasted in Washington a for decadesWouldn’t it be wiser to say you just don’t like her? I can respect that. But for working class folks on a message board to call someone of that stature an idiot, just doesn’t add up.
I appreciate all the attention you give me...I think. I'm not too concerned with what you can respect. I'll say this, she's Italian, makes her OK in my book.
😉

I’m well aware you could care less about my posts.
Aside from one poster in particular, I only pay attention to the content of posts - the person making them is irrelevant to me. My goal here is to discuss the logic behind all of our political motivations, how and why we form our biases, etc. I’m interested in getting to the true bottom of what drives us. I just don’t think intelligence level is the root of it. Like Trump for example - I hear all his idiotic comments just like everyone else. I heard Dan Quayle misspell potato, and I remember George W mispronounce words. However, I would never say they are stupid people overall. I think it’s important for each us to truly understand what the root is. But we can disagree. I’ll move on!

No need to move on, BB. Getting to the root...hmmm, tough one. You guys, The Super Seven, pay much more attention to politics than I ever have or will and as I've said before, I get 98% of my info here. I sincerely enjoy you guys talking about it. Me, I'm a novice. I vote, bitch and moan (I'm a Republican living in RI, God help me) complain...then go to work. I guess my "bias" for lack of a better word has developed from the political climate here for decades. I come out sideways at anything/anyone left of center. Not my true nature, just liberal bombardment here in RI raising my ire.
You are better off a Rhode Island Redneck than a Mississippi Hippy.

I think you’re onto something. I grew up in a very very conservative town. It made me yearn for something different, some diversity, and it made me want to rebel, smoke weed, etc. Maybe when people try Impose their will, it turns us off.

Dude, that's a stone cold fact. Examples of that are too numerous to mention. Took some psychology classes in college, human development, abnormal psych, the whole nature/nurture debate. It's amazing how some react to conditioning.
I've zero interest in the 2020 race right now beyond hoping the eventual nominees are <70 & have knowledge of/respect for democracy and the constitution.
Beto O’Rourke is 46. Bernie Sanders is 77. Does Age Matter Anymore for Democrats?

Despite the title of the article, the content is on ideological differences and who is most likely to beat Trump should he still be in office in 2020 not age. I don't get it. The average life expectancy for American men is 76.9 years; Sanders is past that now and will be 79 in November, 2020. This speech in SC was conducted w/Sanders wearing a bandage over 7 stitches on his forehead for "walking into a glass shower door" having been stitched up at some unidentified walk-in clinic.
There's no recognition that there are physical & mental changes for most Americans - balance, sight, hearing, & basic orthopedic diminution never mind changes in organ and cognitive function. There's just a sentence that the last 5 Dem pres were young except LBJ at 52 who succeeded JFK.
Ideology aside, if the dems press ahead w/one of the old guys (Sanders, Biden, Warren), the VP better be someone who is ready to be pres immediately.
Worse, IMO an old candidate is going to have a tough time against Trump. He's going to make Sanders sound like he's 179. Can you imagine the tweets about Bernie showing up to a rally w/a big white bandage on his head?
Granted, Trump himself is 74, but amazingly, he seems to be healthy & his cognitive abilities couldn't get any worse. His father lived to be 93. Trump & his MAGA disciples w/their Green Book app are masters at ignoring negatives about him.

Same here.

As you point out, Trump is old too. People like to point out Biden's age, but he is well liked by many independents, which is critical. Right here on the WP we have seen 2 people admit that they have never voted for a Democrat for president, but they would vote for Biden. Besides, with an an older president at least we are not paying for secret service protection for an ex-president for 50 years.

This explains how we form our values for sure. The hatred for the opposing side stems from the condescension and condemnation that occurs when one strays from the conditioning, or flat out rejects it. In my particular case, I couldn’t stomach the daily ridicule of minorities, hippies, and certain occupations. Not upper-class white collar? Then you did something wrong and you’re not working hard enough. Smoke pot? Then you are a lazy druggie that breaks the law. The financially successful people didn’t just think they were superior than those making less.....it was fact.....more money equals superiority. Meanwhile, these same people would guzzle wine and conspire to defraud the government.
I learned to have respect for political parties and focus on one’s character. I have nothing but respect for Reagan, Bush Sr, and Bush Jr. And it’s also why I admire Obama. I could care less whether Obamacare is good or bad for the country - the man’s character was exactly what this country needed.

Which is why I've never understood how the GOP let the corrupt, NYC & Russian mafia-tied fraud who now sits in the WH get the nomination. EVERYONE at the top of the GOP knew who he is. They couldn't have found a person w/less character unless they actually chose a mob boss & even he would've had certain ingrained lines he wouldn't cross.
