Less Than Peachy Policies and Ideas

"A massive 200 Billion Dollar Sea Wall, built around New York to protect it from rare storms, is a costly, foolish & environmentally unfriendly idea that, when needed, probably won’t work anyway. It will also look terrible. Sorry, you’ll just have to get your mops & buckets ready!" from Trumps Twitter page.
The proposal by the Army Corps of Engineers for New York would create a six-mile-long barrier of man-made islands with retractable gates. The cost would not be $200 billion, as Trump falsely claimed, but $119 billion, and it would be constructed over 25 years. A finalized proposal isn’t expected to be presented to Congress until at least 2022. Some experts fear the massive proposal is already too little too late.

REMARKS: The military already knows that climate change and rising sea levels will unundate the coastlines of North America. Everything east of I-81 will be underwater. So what did they do when the Navy figured this out? They made plans to move the government to Colorado for continuity of government. What about the 33 million people who live along the east coastline? No answer for them except to go to the conspiracy theorists and preppers who can provide some info. There are severe climate changes coming sooner than you think, but that will be another topic. Apocalyptic things coming because the prophecies will be fulfilled.
What I will say is that the fires and severe weather going on in Australia will continue and eventually that place will face extinction but it won't stop there. The entire southern hemisphere will be subjected to it. Why? Space happenings, gravitational pull, axis position, rotation of the earth, cosmic rays, and asteroid debris coming into the atmosphere, plus the jet stream anomalies. Even the Bermuda Triangle will move and cover part of the US from it's current position. Yep.
Can the govt. save everyone? Nope, should they at least address the issue of rising sea levels? Yes I think so.

Poverty and homelessness are acceptable in America. We throw hundreds of millions of dollars at foreign countries for political reasons. If America really is first, let the other countries wait. Create affordable housing here, not just hide poor people or put them in re-education camps [FEMA], one way in and no way out.

DETROIT - somebody decided to do something about poor, homeless people.

Why do none of our lawmakers have the vision to actually DO anything?

Do ya still support trump?.
100%

There are many, but excluding the usual economy stuff (jobs, stock market, consumer spending):
1) His energy policy is pro-America
2) Illegal immigration is being dealt with and a solution to a way to keep track of who enters the country is happening.
3) Right to try new drugs law is a good thing
4) Withdrawing from the TPP, getting a new China & Nafta trade deal done
5) NATO reform
6) Lack of a political-correctness reflex.

It's scary how the gop denies climate change, yet they bend over backwards and believe that stupid groundhog in Pa. every year.

Last time I was in Pennsylvania the middle of the state was full of Amish people.
They do have a good idea in having an extra lane for horse drawn transportation. We need something like that down here for tractors going 15 mph in a 60 mph zone.

I am starting to look at the policies he has implemented and what he wants to do in the future. I have serious questions and doubts and the impeachment trial is bringing up disturbing things that have occurred.
Lies, cheating, conspiring are not okay with me. It was easy to cut him slack when he first took office. He was new, he may not have known how things are supposed to be done in that job. I mean who is going to train him? He basically learns as he goes along and he has not had an easy time of things. But the slides presented in the impeachment trial show someone yielding absolute power from behind the scenes and demanding he get his way no matter what, if they objected they were fired. But trying to force Ukraine to say they were investigating corruption and election interference from behind the scenes, even they recognized that should not happen. They realized there should be some official written request for this, and when that did not come, it started to look like a set up, just to get Russia off his back, and then be able to blame it on the Ukraine.

Here's another potential policy that is very disturbing because it was one of the things President Trump said he would not do, now he says he may consider it near the end of next year [after the election probably].
Recently without much press of fanfare money was taken out of the Defense Budget and re-allocated for THE Wall.
Social Security is NOT an entitlement program, it is insurance for people who pay into it their whole working lives and are entitled to it as a retirement income. Older people cannot afford cuts to Medicare, the premiums and co-pays are already hurtful to them.

I do not support the policy cuts. Maybe he needs a V-8 better nutrition to come to his senses.

Yeah Spock for President and get Checkov in the Cabinet he can deal with the Russians.

So does this Libertarian.

We may not find out this year, big storm Pa and northeast. Maybe he's been watching the impeachment hearings and they're afraid he'll talk they want to keep him in the hole.

Cuts coming April 1st impacting poor, hungry people.
Food stamp cuts

We do not need to eat GMO corn and polluted Mexican food. People do not HAVE to starve either. Look at what the Dutch are doing.
s an example, one of the university’s star scientists Leo Marcellis is pioneering new vertical farming techniques as a possible solution to producing more food without using more land. Marcellis grows plants in tiered shelves inside highly monitored labs. The potential of this innovation is immense, he says, conjuring skyscrapers of herbs and abandoned buildings stacked with vegetable farms. But there is a small-print environmental cost attached, Marcellis admits. His vertical farms require huge inputs of artificial light, and are partially funded by Phillips, the lightbulb manufacturer. Marcellis’ land-saving vertical farms, it emerges, will require quite a lot of lightbulbs.

MEDICARE MEDICAID CUTS in the 2021 Budget.
The Senate Democratic leader, citing a staff analysis of the spending plan, contended it "slashes both" Medicare and Medicaid, including calling for $1 trillion in funding reductions to the former and "hundreds of billions" for the latter.
REMARKS: 1 dollar cuts in Medicare
900 billion for Medicaid [according to Ms. Pelosi].
"So we're putting out a plan today that, over a period of not that long a period of time, brings our budget and our deficit down to what it should be, which is close to zero. And I think people are going to be very impressed by it," Mr Trump.
"Mr Trump said of his spending plan's proposed $46 billion hike for atomic weapons programs."
Donald Trump has said he will not reduce Medicare or social security spending in 2021 – despite proposing cuts worth billions of dollars this year.
The president tweeted: "We will not be touching your Social Security or Medicare in Fiscal 2021 Budget. Only the Democrats will destroy them by destroying our Country's greatest ever Economy!"
The pledge contrasts with his 2020 budget, which proposes savings worth $1.9 trillion on Medicare (which mostly helps the elderly), Medicaid (which supports poorer people) and other programmes for vulnerable people. The budget also proposes spending $26 billion less on social security. There was speculation that the administration wanted the cuts to help fill the gap caused by Mr Trump's tax cuts for the wealthy, as well as a 5 per cent increase in military spending and $8.6 million for his border wall.
In an interview with CNBC in Davos, Switzerland, last month, Mr Trump acknowledged he was still considering cuts to safety net programmes, saying: "At some point they will be."
He said: "At the right time, we will take a look at that", adding that "we're going to look" at cutting Medicare.

Trump tells Columbia they have to spray coca crops.
https://news.yahoo.com/trump-tells-colombia-spray-coca-084300438.html
CALI, Colombia—During a meeting with Colombian President Iván Duque at the White House early last week, Donald Trump more or less ordered Colombia to wipe out coca plants—the main ingredient in cocaine—by spraying the controversial herbicide glyphosate from the air.
“You’re going to have to spray,” Trump said in front of reporters. “If you don’t spray you’re not going to get rid of [the coca plants]. So you have to spray with regard to the drugs in Colombia.”
Duque, long under pressure from the Trump administration, has now agreed to an ambitious “bilateral” plan to eradicate half of Colombia's 212,000 hectares (523,863 acres) of coca by 2023. But Colombia remains the world’s leading exporter of processed cocaine, with about 90 percent of the finished product flowing north to the United State.
That doesn’t sit well with Trump, who has vacillated passive-aggressively between insulting Duque and threatening ominous repercussions for Colombia if cocaine production isn’t curbed. This cocaine quid pro quo—eradication at all costs or risk losing humanitarian and military aid—has led directly to Bogotá’s decision to resume aerial spraying with glyphosate. Colombia had curtailed the practice back in 2015 due to health risks, including cancer.
“It is like a curse upon the land, destroying everything it touches” said COCCAM spokesman Valencia. “I have seen it with my own eyes. It kills all the farmer’s crops, not just coca, so that they have nothing to eat. It gets into the water and even kills their livestock.
“It also causes cancer of the skin,” he says. “The mothers miscarry, or their babies are born with terrible deformities. Our public officials know this, but they don’t care.”
REMARKS: Lose military and humanitarian assistance? Do we support every country on the earth? Let the cartels provide humanitarian aid in their own countries. Ordering the govt. to spray cancer causing chemicals on these crops? It ruins the land, kills the livestock, and the air becomes contaminated and circles the globe. Leave the crops alone. God put every plant on this earth that he wanted to. Cocaine has pharmaceutical uses, it is used in eye surgery and other things as an anesthetic. If someone was chewing on those leaves, their mouth would be numb enough before they encountered any bad effects. As to the labs purifying it for depressed, lonely wealthy people, they are just filling a niche of dysfunctional people. Yes crack is bad, but if you get rid of all the cocaine, the desperately seeking people will need something else, meth labs will increase and that is much worse to deal with a meth infused population.
In the 19070's they told Mexico to spray paraquat on the pot plants, and now what? They want to legalize pot.
In summation, there is no need to start a war with the cartels. Just stop subsidizing every country on the planet and let the countries rule themselves, have their own revolutions and figure it out for themselves. This is just one more war we do not need and NO this is not an endorsement for cocaine.
