Is the Whipping Post the new Playpen?

Good to hear from you Jerry. Wish I was closer to you I'd offer to give you a hand.
Before I retired one of my customers told me that I would never be bored since I'll now have time to do the stuff i wanted to for the past 40 years.
Not bored right now since I bought a vineyard that hasn't been tended to in over 35 years. People ask me to let them know when the muscadines are ready. I tell them sure, but bring a really tall ladder since they're 40 to 70 feet off the ground in the top of the trees that have grown up. I do have some vines down where I've been cutting down trees and it only takes four grapes to fill my hand. But, you have to watch for the poison ivy growing among the vines.

Usually most threads, if not all of them, including eventually this one, (I'm guessing) turn into either a "you suck" or "Trump sucks" name-calling sh!tfest, it's nice to see this one, at least for now, has morphed into vineyards. Of course, that's subject to change, Mule hasn't checked in.

Maybe we can keep it this way if we ignore the bad guys.
This is what grows in the vineyard.

Sorry to hear your back is messed up Jerry . Pain sucks. Seems climbing ladders pretty risky on codeine. You probably already thought of this but in case not might be worth investing in a bucket truck - if could find one cheap, expensive probably not feasible.

It's all part of my inheritance from my mom. Degenerative disc/bone disease, rheumatoid arthritis, spinal stenosis, high blood pressure, high cholesterol.
For those who take blood pressure medications, ask your doctor about the meds leaching calcium out of your bones.
I'm planning on restoring several terraces of the vineyard over the next year which will involve cutting down a lot of trees. Mostly wild Bradford Pear, wild Cherry, and a few oaks. I should have at least a good supply of firewood for next winter. Most of the original posts and wire is still in place so other than cutting down the trees, trimming the limbs, chipping up what is too small for the fireplace, replacing broken/rotten posts, and fixing any broken wire, piece of cake.

That's it. I'm investing in Tylenol.
Jerry, get busy.
