Amazon decided to tie NY to the 'post today and NOT build their new regional center in Long Island City which would have created 25,000 jobs for low income people. They do this on Valentine's Day!

And of course the Democratic Congresswoman is all smiles!

Governor Cuomo is no dope. He knows what's going on (and he's a Democrat!)

https://nypost.com/2019/02/14/andrew-cuomo-blames-democrats-for-killing-amazon-hq2-deal/

“A small group of politicians put their own narrow political interests above their community — which poll after poll showed overwhelmingly supported bringing Amazon to Long Island City — the state’s economic future and the best interests of the people of this state,” Cuomo said in a statement.

“The New York State Senate has done tremendous damage. They should be held accountable for this lost economic opportunity.”

REMARKS: The facility was to be build across the street from some New York City housing projects, which was good for the people living there. They could walk to work, and have a job, whereas now more than 40% of them have no job and rely on public assistance. They could have gotten a hand up, but now, no deal.

Maybe some of the rest of you will have a better day than this. Trump is reportedly taking the night off to be with Melania. Good move on his part, no politics tonight.

For 25,000-40,000 people being able to get jobs, it's a trade-off.

Though I know what you mean, I have seen local discount chains, like Target closing stores. I went in a Walmart and found they only want to have 2 registers open, and then a bunch of scanning machines. They are forcing the employees who will be replaced by the scanning machines to try to direct people to these machines. It is very sad.

Supermarkets doing it too. Stop and Shop is one of them.

Amazon is the new Walmart.

That and the concept that our philosophy should be to just give people money for not working rather than give employers money for creating jobs. That is the vision for the future of America.

Mrs. Strat and I enjoyed a wonderfully romantic lunch enjoying Costco hot dogs and beverages. Still the best deal in town at a $1.50. Cheers! Cool
