Coal is back, jobs are back and the global warming whack jobs lose again.
Deal with it.

You are absolutely correct that a fossil fuel foundation is required to create and maintain alternative energy tech, however it is shortsighted to assert that "green" power is not a worthwhile augmentation and application of resources. Save the fossil fuel for the heavy lifting, let alt-energy carry the load.

Solar power farms are booming where I live in the desert West, bringing good jobs and hope to struggling communities.

The contribution to the total energy needs of the country by "alternative energy sources" is negligible at best and without tax-payer subsidies it cannot survive.

If the global warming whack-jobs are so intent on alternative energy they should get to work on something that will actually work.

My brother has a solar array in his back yard, pays zero electric and makes a profit selling the excess to the power company. Solar works.

You will find that the folks developing solar farms out here are rural no-nonsense conservative types, doing it because it makes sound economic sense. A far cry from your "eco-whackjob" idea.
