Hey Everybody, I live in NW Indiana, i haven't been to the grocery store in a couple weeks, but my wife went yesterday and she is still now at this moment, hollerin about the fairly sudden and apparently sharp rise in grocery prices!!! Anybody got observations in this area???...............Peace..........joe

Haven't seen that in the Mid Ga. area. I shop several stores each week and maybe a little rise in some with prices dropping in others.
Local produce is coming in, along with my garden. Peaches are being shipped (look for Georgia Juice's from Ft. Valley in your store). Local butchers have meat for sale at nice prices. A little higher than chain stores, but I think better quality.
The "on call" butchers are having a field day. When some big packing companies closed due to covid-19 outbreaks, farmers kinda panicked and sold off cows, pigs, and chickens rather cheap.
We talked about doing that, but realized we would have to buy a couple of freezers to handle just one beef.

I have seen cheese and butter prices go up.

I am going to start getting freeze dried prepper food just in case the SHTF.

Stock up on dried items like rice, beans, pasta, and flour/cornmeal.
Condensed milk, beef and chicken stock are also good items.
Yoo-Hoo chocolate drink, did you know it doesn't have an expiration date?
Canned meats like tuna, beef, chicken, sardines, Spam, Vienna Sausage, and potted meat (Carl Childers' favorite food).
Soups, your favorite veggies, some of your not-so-favorite veggies.
Band-aids, bleach, Neosporin, pain reliever of choice, toothpaste, other needed medical/sanitary supplies.
If you own firearms, don't forget to stock up on ammunition. If you don't have firearms, get with a neighbor that does and mutually support each other.

If you have a grill, get a couple of propane cans filled, or a couple bags of charcoal.

Of course if the crap doesn't hit the fan, you won't need to go to the grocery store for a while.
