Yes? No?

I can't say I mind an occasional professional fireworks display for a special event.

Other than that, people setting off fireworks in the neighborhoods...somebody near me just set off almost 30 minutes worth tonight. I went and looked out the window to see which house it was but no interest in watching the oohs and aahs. Not really into fireworks like that anymore.

I hate fireworks. They kill birds, disturb wildlife, start fires, cause injuries. They torture my dog. I wish they were prohibited in cities, or at least the resale of them. I had a bunch of debris in my yard from the neighbor's shooting them off.

There's a place for them, but does any one over 8 still get impressed by them? I've only enjoyed them twice as an adult, both times I couldn't hear them - July 4th fireworks in NYC harbor from the M Train over the Williamsburg Bridge; seeing multiple shows across the horizon from 35K feet flying into Laguardia.

Put me in the camp of loving the real firework displays and hating the week of July 4 with all the idiots blowing off hundreds of dollars of fireworks. I feel bad for all the dogs that are affected...

In Illinois fireworks are illegal .... but everybody just goes to Indiana and fills up their cars/trucks. Politicians here want to legalize them so that they get a piece of the revenue - since everybody gets them anyway......

Totally agree with the fireworks bothering dogs. Ours is messed up for several weeks after the 4th.

This guy does!!! Cool

Excluding this year, Asbury Park does some of the best fireworks I’ve ever seen on the 4th. I remember the ones at Epcot being pretty incredible too.

The little ones that people buy at Costco and set off in their yards can go to hell though. 😛

I like the "official" ones. Our town would put on a nice one every year, until now.

not a fan of home fireworks

Independence Day is one of my fav holidays, so make that a YES!!! More so I just like to light them off for the young ones in our family. We live out in the country in a wooded are, and I love sitting out at night and just hearing them go off. Bring it on!!!

Everyone has a plan, till you get punched in the face,

I like the big professional displays. I hate the private stuff. Fires are a big concern where I live. Too many people losing their house over a few stupid bottle rockets.

When I was a kid, my father always would have firecrackers and bottle rockets. He was very careful with them. One day, my mother thew out a brown shopping bag full of firecrackers. By mistake. These were the days when we were allowed to burn trash. Well, it was a noisy and crowded afternoon in my yard that day,
