Wasn't he also supposed to round up 2 million illegals and ship them back to Mexico today?
I don't think he promised that for his first day, but he did promise that there would be law and order on his first day and you would be safe as of today (see his nomination acceptance speech for that promise). So, given the riots it seems like either he has a different definition of law and order than I do or it's a campaign promise already broken.

Trump may have said 30 different things he would do his first day in office. Trump says alot of things, not news to anyone I think, says alot of things that may happen or may never happen. People who cared about certain things he said and those things don't happen, they can take him to task.
What I saw with the Obama election in 2008 and the administration in early 2009...I wanted to see the clean coal programs he talked about on the campaign trail, telling people what they wanted to hear to gain votes and then in office taking no action towards that. I was disappointed when he did a 180 on coal vs the campaign Obama and I criticized that here 8 years ago on this forum.
So that is different than somebody who say, doesn't really want Hillary to go to prison, or doesn;t really want illegals to be found and deported, or doesn't want anything he said he would do on day 1 now sarcastically asking 'when are these things going to happen'? As if you would be happier if it was taking place. I mean, I don't want Hillary to go to prison. The FBI has said they don't believe it is a prosecutable case. I don't want a bunch of illegals tracked and deported. I do want to use them as a compromise for a large scale tougher illegal immigration bill, where people who are here can stay in a way that has been proposed before in conjunction with tougher illegal immigration barriers, penalties on both border crossers and employers who hire them.
If or when Trump doesn't act on the things I care about I will criticize him and his administration for it. His opponents can continue to criticize him for things he probably won't do (things those critics actually don't even want done) and then criticize him for things he will end up doing. It is nice to have it both ways like that.
I listened to a variety of radio and TV shows on XM in the shop tonight.
Sounds like the Armed Forces and First Responders ball was the best from what I could tell. Even liked the "I will always love you" rendition better than Whitney's (blasphemy my wife would say).
Listening to Don Lemon's show tonight...and I get it there is plenty of room for criticism in the speech Trump gave, I said I was a little uncomfortable with some of it and it wasn;t what some people had hoped for. Fine, I have no problem with people expressing opinions or even disappointment at the speech. Fine.
But Lemon choose to say that the America First mantra of helping factory workers, or restoring a more robust manufacturing industry in this country only serves "whites in the rust belt". He went onto say that (paraphrasing) "minorities were unable to get jobs at these factories (imply discrimination) so Donald Trump's plan to boost this part of the economy does nothing for minorities in this country". I like Don Lemon commentary from time to time. But it sounds like he has never been inside of a factory...or seen factory workers in a video or photo on the job.
I have been in a Chevy and a Jeep plant in Lordstown and Toledo Ohio. I have seen photos of appliance and auto manufacturing plants in places like Mississippi and Alabama. There are many woman and black workers on those assembly lines and plants. White blue collar workers, union or otherwise, have no monopoly on these types of jobs and expanding jobs of this nature indeed offer minorities opportunities in pay and beneifts that no other industry segment could provide in large scale.
It is an interesting twist in the political landscape. A key factor in Trump's electoral collage win in places like PA, WI and MI were from blue collar workers (Michael Moore said as much about Michigan voters who were Obama supporters and then went Trump tonight on Chris Hayes' show). If Republicans can successfully capture and keep this voting demographic it will be a big blow the the Democrats who have traditionally relied on said voting segment...but all those free trade deals have a cost. And that cost may just be that these blue collar union voters are no longer lock step D votes on election day.

Considering the President can't pick and choose whom he prosecutes and the investigation was over, that was never a real possibility. But some voters believed it anyways.

Yeah, that whole independent judiciary thing. I'd lay good money down that once Sessions is confirmed, he and Chaffetz will go after her.

This is some of what happened near the National Mall, where the un-invited people gathered, some in support of Trump, some not.

The police allowed the anti-fascists to remain in the street outside the National Press Club, where the event was taking place, until the activists marched away of their own accord. "I remember when DC cops were actually good at crowd control," one protester taunted."
REMARKS: The actions of these protesters are assault and battery. Those things are crimes.

The line of activists was several rows deep, and inauguration-goers who attempted to pass through -- including one car -- were turned away. One member of the Bikers for Trump group punched a Black Lives Matter activist, according to a witness."
REMARKS: These people do not understand what a protest march is. A march is where people march, make their presence and cause/grievances known, but it is peaceful. These people had no right to obstruct anyone from attending events they came to attend. As the protests will undoubtedly continue, it will get more contentious because the protesters are not doing peaceful assembly. They are acting like anarchists, and are being treated that way.

The man arrested by Miami Beach police Tuesday for allegedly threatening President-elect Donald Trump online is a member of a prominent northeast family close to Bill and Hillary Clinton.
He once gave $20,000 to the Democratic National Committee, DailyMail.com has learned.
Suspect Dominic Puopolo Jr., 51, sat near Hillary Clinton when she delivered the eulogy at the funeral of Puopolo's mother, Sonia, who died in one of the jets that flew into the World Trade Center on 9-11.
During that eulogy on Oct. 6, 2001 in Boston, the former presidential candidate referred to 'Dom Jr.'s latest computer wizardry.' The 'wizard' is now being held in a Miami-Dade County jail after using Twitter to threaten Trump's life. Trump is scheduled to be sworn in Friday in Washington, D.C. as Puopolo remains incarcerated on a charge of threatening to harm a public servant.
Puopolo reportedly admitted to posting a video to Twitter, saying: 'This is the 16th of January 2017, I will be at the review/ inauguration and I will kill President Trump, President elect Trump today.' He was nabbed after leaving a Washington Avenue Subway sandwich shop about 4 p.m. Tuesday. Puopolo, however, may not be the average Trump hater.
On various social media platforms, where he posts as JesusChrist1701, the computer consultant claims to have testified in terror cases as an expert witness in a German federal court in Hamburg from 2003 to 2008.
He also says he served in the Navy.
He once posted a photo of himself holding an image of his mother in front of a wall that sports a picture of him with Colin Powell and a famous shot of Ronald Reagan.
Puopolo has published a number of pictures of outgoing Secretary of State John Kerry, whom he calls a friend. According to news archives his mother, Sonia Mercedes Morales Puopolo was married to the wealthy Nantucket businessman Dominic J. Puopolo Sr. She was once a professional ballet dancer and became a major philanthropist and political donor.
However, Sonia was among 92 people on American Airlines Flight 11 on Sept. 11, 2001, when it crashed into the World Trade Center's north tower in New York City. She was two seats away from terrorist Mohammad Atta. In an amazing twist of fate, Ground Zero cleanup crews recovered the wedding ring that Sonia's husband had given her 40 years earlier.

There is no evidence that he saw Clinton after the funeral. He has been diagnosed as mentally ill and has fabricated much of the story of his life. He never left the state of Florida and had not made ay plans to do so. The fact that he is not being held on Federal charges should tell you that he was not a serious threat. You remain the most gullible person on this forum.
