Donald Trump has no political views, philosophy or vision for America. He only cares about Donald Trump and promoting Donald Trump and he liked being President and admired the world's dictators and strong men who ran their countries without anyone in the way. 

This is long but eye opening and offers proof Trump had no intention of letting go of the White House.

The information in your second paragraph was and is known to pretty much anyone with any knowledge of Donald Trump.  Especially if they were paying attention prior to the mostly made up reality show that resurrected his "career" and later ignored the buffoonery that Fox News and other right wing media outlets spoon fed their viewers, readers, etc. about Trump.

Nearly everything we know about Trump and his actions while in the White House and after was predictable.  

I started this thread to separate the DOJ investigation into the Jan. 6 from the Congressional one. There are so many state and federal investigations of Trump & TTO that it's confusing. So far, there's not much reported re the Jan. 6 criminal investigation except a flurry of subpoenas. 

I don't expect much to happen here. Criminal investigations take time. Prosecutors want a winnable case & it takes time to build it. They may not get one. Congress moved faster because it can.

@cyclone88 Thanks for providing us with your professional insight - and for keeping the topics separated when appropriate!  So much of this stuff is difficult for laymen to decipher.  The various media typically confound rather than explain.

Thank @PorkchopBob for starting a Mar-a-Lago search thread separate from FPOTUS's other legal proceedings. He foresaw that was going to be a sideshow! It's a theatrical grab for FPOTUS given that he'd already turned over 1 batch of classified documents at NARA's request & his (now under investigation) FL attorney handed over another batch in the spring w/o raising a fuss. It's also a media show to keep running Victim Trump/Criminal Trump on the air & in print. So, I followed his example.

Congressional hearings & judicial investigations have different rules & results. IMO the media doesn't understand the difference & just report yet another Trump story that as you say, confounds everyone!

Glad the Ringo show was worth the wait!

with the Jan 6 calendar date here tmrw, thought it an opportune time to bump this thread of writings that have proven out more than 2 years later

also to acknowledge Rusty’s post - cyclone88’s posts do make the functions of the two investigations, easier to decipher

currently, they seem to be at a standstill, or impasse - something envisioned in the quote (am not patronizing)

looked for updated/current Jan 6 insurrection info via google search - yes, by & large, unchanged - as far as I could ascertain - updates will be published Jan 6, 2025

it was pointed out, winnable cases take time to build - that’s this alright

we’ve always extended it to aid a good start, especially in a transition year, as a show of American pride & unity

Current headline reads “Voters Saved Trump From Being Convicted” in election interference case - yes they did - they saw it for what it was - the right thing to do

on topic, most of the article is about Jan 6 - it mentions The Insurrection Act - it reads that, The Insurrection Act “provides that anyone who incites, sets on foot, assists or engages in a rebellion or insurrection against the authority of the United States or the laws thereof, or gives aid or comfort thereto, could be fined, imprisoned for a maximum of 10 years, and shall be incapable of holding any office in the U.S.”

it worked - many who were on the Capitol steps on Jan 6 2021 were convicted for their roles/actions in the uprising, according to what I looked up - & rightfully - valuable property was ruined or vandalized

Yet after all this, the frauds, rape charges, murderous intent against enemies, & an overall hateful deranged unhinged human being

….the people cast a skeptical eye & deaf ear to all that crap, & returned him to office

it’s where he should’ve been all along, his supporters say, or Jan 6 never would’ve happened & he’d be finishing, not beginning, his second term

he’s a senior citizen & will need our help - the same as provided to his predecesor/fellow senior, Pres Biden

he & VP Harris did a good job, now the nation is ready to soar into a new era of achievement under equally sound leadership, Trump-Vance🇺🇸

Let’s be good citizens & continue to plant the red, white & blue deep in American soil
