I'm not sure what any of that means (I am from the south) but they did call me King James where I used to work.

If you meant you can't decipher my facetious crock of sh!t, that's probably just as well. If so, the following stands alone and is not a response to your statement:

It is a truly unfortunate stereotype that casts the Southerner as devoid of a great love of letters and enthusiasm for the advancement of the literary arts. Modern American fiction was practically born there. Many (most?) of our finest wordsmiths were and are from the South. A few off the top of my head: William Faulkner, Tennessee Williams, Richard Wright, Cormac McCarthy (my favorite), Harper Lee, Truman Capote, Margaret Mitchell, Wendell Berry, Zora Neale Hurston, Robert Penn Warren, Alice Walker . . . there are hundreds.

Somewhat related, as far as people thinking it is "cool" and "roughneck" to talk Southern, the Southern accent and word styling, now the symbolic lingua franca of the anti-intellectual rebelyell crowd, and amplified into a comical parody of itself by Nashville, assiduously affected by redneck posers nationwide and mocked by Yankee pseudo-intellectuals is in actuality an undiluted form of the Elizabethan English brought here in the 17th century, trapped in amber in the South as English morphed into other accents in other regions due to the modern influx of immigrants from all over Europe. So that redneck wannabe in Anyville USA who adopts the accent he hears on KCOW is actually schooling himself in an accent that William Shakespeare may well have had!

(Never trust a Yankee who says y'all.)

Re the work nickname, did you by any chance work from Apthorpe Hall in England and sponsor the publication of a perennial bestseller in 1611?

No that was another James. But that is my favorite book.

If my math is right (still from the south but not sure I should keep announcing that) it is now 1 for me and 0 for everyone else.

Took me a while to get over Gina's support for the Taliban.

It took me awhile to understand the differences between them and Al Qaida and the other groups. There are some good, rightly guided in all the groups, then there are the others who feel it is their duty to wage jihad in any way possible against those who are not Muslims.

We are in a war, of good versus evil, the new world order and their satanic followers versus everybody else. Eventually people here will realize that. Fortunately we have well trained former military people will not go along with the minions from hell, along with the prepper, conspiracy theorists, and WE SHALL ALL OVERCOME those demonic people who want to eternally subjugate us.

By the way, congrats on your new rank Brer.
