Brian May, Peter Frampton and Others Speak Against Clapton's Covid Policy

Like Brian May, I am a life-long Eric Clapton fan. He inspired virtually everybody who's ever picked up a guitar. He's a hero and idol to so many. His insistence to not play venues requiring Covid tests or masking probably won't hurt him financially, but he's libel to wind up playing fewer shows to smaller audiences. Already, artists are cancelling tours (Frampton) or requiring attendees to prove vaccination, mask-up or both.
I said much earlier this year that I'd love to go to a Clapton show - buy the VIP package and get him to sign my Clapton Martin guitar. I'm thinking now that I might take a chisel and remove his "signature" from the neck. Of course, I am not going to do this. I am very disappointed in Eric Clapton right now.

"I am very disappointed in Eric Clapton right now".
Ditto. Sometimes I think Clapton's ego just knows NO bounds. I say that because he is defying the recommendations of medical experts like Fauci. To quote Frank Zappa, "Shut Up And Play Your Guitar".

Yeah, I'm surprised by Clapton. I just received an email from The Old Town School of Folk Music in Chicago. I bought my ticket two days ago for James McMurtry and nothing was mentioned about COVID and in that time they changed their policy regarding this. You have to prove your vaccination or show a negative test. If you refuse they will refund your money.
I also got an email from Dead and Company and they basically said the same thing.

Mayor of San Francisco announces that proof of vaccination will be required and this is coming from the most liberal city in the U.S.

And here's an email I received just this morning from Valley Medical Center, the local County hospital in Santa Clara County (south Bay including San Jose):
The State of California issued a new health order starting Wednesday, August 11 that requires hospital visitors to provide proof they are fully vaccinated against COVID-19 or have a negative COVID-19 test result in the last 72 hours to enter hospitals to visit or accompany a patient.
This includes support persons for women delivering babies. Please prepare for this if you’re expecting a baby!
Limited exceptions are allowed for visits related to end-of-life, guardians accompanying minors or those support persons determined to be essential to care.
Log in to myHealthOnline to print your vaccination record, schedule a time to complete the vaccines if you haven’t already, or to request a testing appointment.
If you don’t have myHealthOnline you can:

COVID-19 Vaccines are the most effective way to prevent serious illness and death from the virus, especially while the highly contagious Delta variant is spreading rapidly. Anyone 12 years or older can get vaccinated. We strongly recommend every eligible person get vaccinated.

We appreciate your understanding as we all comply with the new State requirements.
