Here is why this thread was made.

I recently went through some CDR's in my studio and came across the first "gifts" of music given to me when first joining this community back in 2003. (It had such a different vibe back then). The music was from Bob, Clay, and Kenny (Old Dirt Road). One of the past things I Remember Bob saying before he got sick was the "two sides of the same coin" reference to the political party system (replublican/democrat) of our country. It was specific to the lies, corruption and polarization done by politicians on both sides.

Perhaps it should've been posted in Anything Goes"? With the same B/S going on today, it made sad that something my friend said years ago has gotten so much worse today. This board has lost so much of it's heart and soul over the years. The diversity was the magic that made it sincere. Today it seems you get bumrushed for speaking against the status quo, There was once something "HERE" that vanished.

So as I sat and listened to Beacon show fromBobo, my smile was from the memory of his generosity & kindness and the way this community used to be. Sucks that people and politics sucked the joy out this place.

gotdrumz, remember we've gone through this same thing several times and it works itself out. We have had people leave due to some of the infighting over the past 10 or 12 years A lot of them are missed and probably won't return. Some of us have stayed through the bad times. We have celebrated newcomers, weddings, significant milestones, and new family members.
We've also memorialized those that passed, suffered in prayerful hopes through sickness and disasters, some have even gone to help those we didn't know that suffered tragedies like Katrina, floods, and other natural disasters.
What is going on now will pass, Karma, which can sometimes be a bitch, will catch up.

A comment about politics was made in "general" I made on distinction of any party, yet two came in their soapbox and started in on one particular politician. I swear, a thread titled, It is a wonderful day " could be posted and it mentions, I got up on the "right" side of the bed", and certain people would jump in to bash Trump cause "right" was typed in the text. SUbject and context irrelevant, they can't help themselves.

Again another assuming it is a right wing thing? Look few posts above your own. Having all the info really helps.

I would humbly suggest that while the political discussions have been oft-cited as the reason for the demise of what once was around here, the Dickey threads, the dueling Guest Book posts, the will Dickey play the anniversary Beacon shows and the Fence Fund affair caused just as much or more damage as the political discussions, as well as some very determined agents over the years dedicated to causing as much general damage as possible, regardless of topic.

Here is some "garbage political blather": Right now I don't see what is happening in DC as "two sides of the same coin" at all - it is not even left vs right. This is all by itself. A rogue govt, a national emergency. The "all politicians suck so lets all be friends" thing does not apply.
