Bernie Sanders on Donald Trump's speech:

"The $84 billion dollars that President Trump wants to pump into the bloated pentagon budget, could, just as one example, provide free tuition at every public college and University in this country and begin to reduce the crushing burden of student debt in America. THAT IS THE CHOICE."

Also,

"President Trump claimed tonight that American corporations pay the highest tax rates in the world.

Not true.

According to the government accountability office, one of five large profitable corporations pays NOTHING.......ZERO in Federal income tax. Today we are losing $100 billion in revenue every year because corporations are stashing their cash in The Cayman Islands and other offshore tax havens. These corporations don't need a tax cut, they need to start paying their fair share of taxes."

>>Sanders' entire 14 minute response can be viewed on-line.

The voting populace and Democrats in particular said NO to this "choice". Bernie is old news.

"Old news" only by the modern attention deficit disorder standards.

I hesitate to comment on US politics, especially on the wrong board (!), but isn't it sad that President Trump wants $54 b "so the US can win wars again"? Like wars are a sporting competition.

I'd prefer a leader who didn't want to fight wars, even if it cost $54 b.

US military spending in 2015 already eclipsed that of China, Russia, UK, France, Japan, Saudi Arabia and Germany COMBINED!

You delete a thread by editing it and checking delete. Your post and title then becomes blank. Copy it before you do so it can be posted on the other board.

It's all a dog and pony show for Trump - "build me an army worthy of me!"

He quoted Ike last night in his speech, but ignores the former General and President's warning about the Military Industrial Complex.

Free college = lower perceived value
I don't believe in free, but college is way too expensive.

War - I believe Trump wants to finish the ISIS job he campaigned on, build a state of the art military while trimming the budget of waste. Like it was said, Obama spent eight years at war and got a Nobel Peace prize. And he got it in 2009, less than one year on the job...NOW that's a f**king joke.

He didn't give it to himself.

Those who b!tch about that are the f*^king joke.
