Aunt Jemima brand to change name, remove image that Quaker says is 'based on a racial stereotype'

Maybe it's time you stop denying the racism of the Republican party of today.
Maybe it's time for the Left/Democratic party to stop labeling everything it disapproves of as racism.

I guess I won't buy Aunt Jemima anymore.
Why? Was the name and picture the only reason you bought it before?
Or are you just offended that they decided to be less racist?
Those are the only two reasons I can think of why you would stop buying a product because of a name change.
Obviously you have "kneejerked" again.
Did you read the article?
Did you understand it?
Did you not notice that IT WILL NOT BE MADE ANYMORE?
Did you know that if it's not made anymore you can't buy it?
You must think that you can go into a Ford dealership and buy a brand new Model A.
Guess what! you can't! Know why? They don't make them anymore.
Just like Aunt Jemima isn't going to be made anymore.
PS: I don't use the flour, but I love the Butter Rich Syrup. Guess I won't be buying any of that from now on either.

I read the article, did you? Here is the very first sentence. "The Aunt Jemima brand of syrup and pancake mix will get a new name and image, Quaker Oats announced Wednesday,"
It will still be made and sold, just with a new name and packaging. Did you stop using Federal Express when they changed their name to FedEx? Did you stop going to Kentucky Fried Chicken when they changed their name to KFC? They are changing the name and packaging. That's it. So, now knowing that the product will still be available with a different name and packaging, are you going to stop buying the product because it changed its name?

There are lots of things I disapprove of that are not racists. And I believe a lot of the criticism of Obama was unfairly labeled as racist by the left. But there is a huge racist component in today's Republican party, and it seems like it is not something they are trying to hide anymore. It seems to be a badge of honor as the white hood of old that the racist Democrats hid away 70 years ago only to be pulled out for special occasions has been replaced by a red hat worn everyday.

I guess I won't buy Aunt Jemima anymore.

Do you think they will put on the new label "formerly known as Aunt Jamima"?
How will you know if it's the same mix or syrup?
Do you expect me to blindly purchase items that MIGHT be the same mix and syrup?
where can I send you the bill while I'm experimenting if you expect me to do that?
AND again, you can't buy Aunt Jemima mix and syrup if it isn't labeled Aunt Jemima mix and syrup, so thus, you can't buy it anymore.
To simplify it, if they change the name, you can't buy the mix and syrup under that name. Got it?Quit reading things into posts that aren't there.

^ Well we still have "Devils Food Cake"
and "Devil Dogs" . As a satanist I am deeply hurt and offended - how would you Christians feel about "Jesus" brand wine and wafers ? I bet even "people need to chill out" Gina would get upset over "Allah" brand sesame snacks.
Why do we honor the devil with Devil Dogs? Models were an improvement, then came Ho-Ho's and Ding Dongs [which is slang for penis]. Ho-hos and Ding Dongs. All devils food.
No you cannot put Allah's name on foods. Even the Jews do not do that for kosher, blessed Passover foods.

I guess I won't buy Aunt Jemima anymore.

I'm not the one reading into things. I'm sure Quaker Oats will not hide the new name. It will be widely known, and if you did indeed purchase and enjoy the product before, it will be easy to find out the new name. I think we all were well informed when Datsen changed their name to Nissan, and we didn't have to keep buying new cars to find one that might be the same car.

The thing is this, man cannot create what God has created. To try to do that is saying that man is equal to God. God creates, man imitates. God even says life and death are in his hands, yet Doctors use i.v.f. and other artificial means to try to make babies. The most successful programs only have a 20 % Success rate. If man was able to do that on his own the success rate would be close to 100%. It is not because it is only through his mercy that God allows any baby to be created using the Doctors hands and technologies as tools. Nike can put their own logo on the shoes they create because they are their design.
Do you know near the end God will uproot every tree, plant, flower that is not where HE put them? Landscaping with man deciding what goes where is an affront to him. He put what he wanted where he wanted it. He allowed man to build houses and structures but man takes it too far trying to emulate God's creations.
Certain food crops naturally grow in certain places and were meant for the people of those regions and as transportation developed fair and honorable trade deals with other nations should have happened. That is the right way. GMO and other manipulative practices are an abomination against what God put on this earth for man's sustenance.
The punishment? Famine from Food shortages, supply chain failures, starvation, death. Man created these problems.

If I wanted to hear crazy religious opinions, I'd go to church or listen to Mike Pence. Instead, I'll use my reasoning (either God given or naturally evolved, I don't really care) and form my own opinions. Your religious opinions mean about as much to us as some crazy conspiracy theory lunatic from YouTube.

Mike Pence? And by the way it is in the Bible that God will uproot every tree he has not planted, as well as famine, pestilence etc. Coming upon the earth. The waters that will be poisoned will be from the dust from the meteorites that will be coming. The astronomical and geopolitical events that happen will prove the prophecies. When you see them you may not recognize them because you want to dismiss them as theories. Prophecies are warnings not theories.

BUT, will it still be Aunt Jeremia?
Actually, I think Aunt Jeremia is one of the names they are considering - kind of a transgender rainbow friendly pansexual and all-inclusive idea.
Well, to be all inclusive they would have to include a white hetro in there somewhere.

I guess I won't buy Aunt Jemima anymore.

New Coke was terrible.

Prophecies are guesses.
