Not sure about this latest move. Donoghue is close to Barr & he's going to work w/Barr now. If anything, I think it's more like patronage - a rewarding title & higher $$$ for being Barr's buddy. DuCharme is just going to be acting EDNY US Attorney.

This was an end run around the process. Donoghue resigned 7/2 I think & the position would've become officially effective/vacant at midnight Monday. His deputy would be temporarily elevated until a new appointment was approved. Instead, DuCharme was given the oath Friday afternoon so a vacancy would never exist. The deputy who would've be elevated Monday was you guessed it - a democrat.

Barr is in so deep, he's headed for an abuse of power ethical violation if nothing else. Not that he cares. He's 70. He'll retire to the lecture circuit or some old boy law firm after his tenure.

About 2 weeks ago, the former EDNY attorney heard he resigned on the new when Barr announced it. Only he didn't resign. Barr then got Trump to fire him.

I wonder where NYS is in all this. That is can they also investigate Rudy as I would assume there’s possibly violations of state law by Rudy and the Ukrainians? It would be one way to
