This is what we get from MAGA Prez at Coronavirus Briefing. He is cool, calm, collective, and has compasion for his fellow man.

"Trump brands FBI top brass ‘human scum’, calls CNN reporter ‘brainless’, and says he’s ‘not a fan’ of Mitt Romney in freewheeling press conference"

I want to at least accept the guy. "OK, you're the potus, I'll listen". And I want to think he has a sliver of humbleness, enough common sense to defer, enough presidential wherewithal to refrain from incessant tweeting/berating/belittling of others but I can't.

W used to make me cringe in embarrassment at times but at least he had/has some good qualities; decorum, respect for the office, etc.

This guy, I'm just not feelin' it and I gave him three years to ease up.

Cant stand pence either Mad He was on meet the press sunday and just kept talking and talking so the host could not question him, talking but saying nothing of substance like a mannequin on a tape loop.

chuck todd is a disgrace, he didn't even press pence on his outright lies.

Disgraceful.

I try to watch or listen every day. I also try to watch, usually listen due to the 2:00 time, to the Ohio daily briefing.

I like to hear information from the source rather than having it retold to me in somebody else's interpretation. I've learned a lot from the team members. Some are better than others. Trump is the worst - I really really wish he just wouldn't come out for these, but this has already been discussed on here.

The press could take some ownership of the kind of questions they are asking, or to whom. If I was a reporter there every chance I got I would be asking Birx, Fauci, Giroir, Pence, Redfield or any other guest or cabinet member who might be up there. Address those people with the question. Most of the time they ask Trump a question and then complain when he goes off the rails. Ignore Trump. I hate that he sucks the air out of the press conferences, the media hates it too. So stop asking him questions!

I watched tonight for a few minutes of Q & A. Since he's on practically every night, he's regularly repeating his lines from the previous night. It's as if he's attempting to convince us how much on top of things he's been, how great he is, and then he drifts into all the "wonderful Trump accomplishments that have or would have never been achieved in any other administration". He's just not believable and doesn't portray a leader in charge and under control.

Trust me, from maybe the only person actually trying to watch/listen to all these, the stuff Trump says aren’t just repeats of the previous night, it is almost all the previous nights. The tangents, the rambling non-answers are repeated over and over multiple times a night and multiple times a week. To the point I can predict what he is going to say even when his answer is completely disconnected from anything close to what the question was, it is easy to guess his answer. I honestly do not know why the reporters continue to ask.

I didn't watch it, but apparently he said on Saturday that his policies will save a BILLION lives, in a country of 330 million people. Can anybody confirm this?

You're correct I chose "previous night" since the answer I refererenced was ditto from prior night, but it could as have easily been the night before that & the night before that, etc.

He's on an endless trip to convince us he's saving the USA.

I think I too heard he said that. To save a billion lives when we only have 330 million lives is incredible. He truly is the greatest, & it reinforces what he always reminds us of how he does things that no other president has done. Maybe we should just cancel the election in November & let the great one serve until he chooses to abandon the throne.

I didn't catch at the time but went back and the cspan video confirms he said billions, as does their transcript.

Trump often mispronounces words and says the wrong word; I will have to believe his intent was to say millions but he said billions.

At least Obama only thought we had 57 governors and not hundreds of them.

Anyone would be excused for not seeing all of the briefing, but that wasn't the greatest hit.

Trump asks if UV light or disinfecting cleaners can be introduced into, inside the body, the lungs, as a cure for Covid.

So a vodka + disinfecting cleaners sounds like a plan. The only problem is vodka becomes the next toilet paper.

And somewhere out there in the New Dark Ages, a Redhat in a tanning booth is huffing Lysol.

Grin Cool 😛 Grin

That just made my morning, Brer...Too funny. And perhaps, just as sad, is the fact that there probably is a Redhat or two doing exactly what you describe...

50 state governors, 6 territorial governors, 1 mayor of DC which is not a state but a federal district...

It dawned on me today that I never heard him comment on the horrid loss of life
He talks about fake news and bad reporting, horrible Democrats, and has sympathy for business owners losing money or their business

But I haven’t heard him comment on the human suffering

Am I wrong?

What these toothless, uneducated, racist, misogynist, Trump supporters (aka. Trumpanzees) didn't realize is that Trump won on a fluke and that their 15 minutes of fame will soon be over. Trump is an abomination, an insult to this country and our best tradition, and his 2016 victory was an aberration. As the saying goes, 6-times bankrupt, wife-cheating, puzzyGrabbing, bone spur faking, draft dodging, tax-evading, morally corrupt filth like Trump triumphs when good people do nothing. Well, let's do something this November.

I don't listen to his portion of the daily news briefings. I believe he's referenced "the horrible thing" when reading from a prepared script. No condolences to families. He may have talked about the lack of PPE for front liners as being disgraceful but it was part of a rant about why someone else hadn't gotten the proper equipment - not his fault.

His original callousness was demonstrated when the US had 14 cases & there were 14 Americans aboard a cruise ship who were going to be removed to quarantine in CA. His comment was all about the numbers - he didn't want the number of cases to increase in the US much less double overnight from 14 to 28. He specifically said "I like the numbers where they are." Nothing about the cases or people.

The only time when he seemed shaken or at least to "get" that real people were sick (not necessarily dying) was the Sunday he introduced the expert team of Fauci/Birx the day after he announced that Pence was going to be in charge (& do all the talking). A NYC real estate developer friend of his who was in his 70s had been admitted to the hospital w/symptoms & was quickly put on a vent in a medically induced coma. Trump mentioned that development during his introduction of the new team - one day it's a cough, the next day he's in a coma - & seemed surprised. He couldn't believe that someone he knew, rich, white, about his age, could get COVID-19 much less deteriorate so rapidly. It was like he had been told or read about symptoms, vulnerable populations, etc. but didn't grasp it. Chera later died & I don't think Trump mentioned it publicly.

Short answer is no.

So I guess these are done now? The last one I think was a week ago.

I watched a video from the oval on Cspan with the Louisiana Gov where Fauci and Birx were present and spoke. Trump said "they are more famous then me I'm a little jealous".

Now if we want to see what medical experts or other people on the task force are saying will have to search for statements and interviews instead of regular briefings.

I didn't see any of the McEnany briefing, was any other speaker there?
