I know it may not seem like much, but even a couple nights locked up away from your family is devastating. 3-4 years behind bars, while your loved ones are elsewhere, is going to be pure hell for him.

Im beginning to doubt that this is anything. I know it sounds rushish but what did this have to do with the russia/campaign conspiracy? As ive said, i think they could rattle any cage on Wall St and make these kinds of charges at anytime. I fear the Democrats are going to investigate Trump into being re elected.

That is just partial for the tax and bank fraud. There is another sentencing hearing yet to come for other charges.

As ive said, i think they could rattle any cage on Wall St and make these kinds of charges at anytime. I fear the Democrats are going to investigate Trump into being re elected.

It was uncovered while investigating the Russian/Collusion mandate given to Mueller and thus can be pursued per the actual special prosecutor legislation. Even the judge agreed and ruled on this issue in the case itself.

As nebish already pointed out, Manafort will be sentenced again this coming week for other crimes specifically related to the Russian investigation. Probably the most damaging being witness tampering and lying to the FBI....The judge in this particular case hasn't been nearly as "friendly" to Manafort as the judge who gave Manafort his "slap on the hand" sentence this past week and so maybe she'll give him the maximum penalty....We'll find out soon enough.

I suspect Trump will pardon Manafort anyway as he's been telegraphing such a move for weeks now. Should he do so, while yet another white collar criminal will get off relatively unscathed, it may wake some people up in this country as to the two tiers of justice we have in this country and lead to some sort of sentencing reform in the years to come....Probably wishful thinking on my part, but it could happen should more progressives take power over the next few years....

Its the same as always. I remember a local court term where a rich guy got probation for indecent liberties with an underage person and he was an old creep. Next day a dude got 6 years for growing pot. I was a photog at the local paper and couldnt get these spinless reporters to call that out. I heard this morning that alot of these comparasions are being made with Manafort. I really hope Trump does pardon these folks. That will be fun to watch his followers support it.

This sentencing disparity/injustice could be solved with mandatory minimums across the board if that is what people want.
