Epic to meet you Effie! So many great people at our dinner last night. Some guy at the airport heard us discussing the show just now. Skoots Lyndon. It has been that kind of magic send off the last few days.

More later. Airport iPads are not my thing.

Not to discredit the rest of the show, but undoubtedly the best first set I've ever seen.

There were no unwritten rules about sitting in the balcony last night.Entire balcony on their feet from beginning to end.

After over 100 shows, they may have saved my best for last.

One of the best nights of my life!
I felt like I was on a roller coaster ride of emotion.
The ultimate joy of having a ticket for THE CONCERT OF A LIFETIME vs. the sadness of this being the last performance of the world's best live band.
The friends, old and new....singing, dancing, drinking, dining, smoking together!

I cheered, sang, danced, danced, danced, danced and cried. I cried my eyes out during Whipping Post, tears of joy and sadness at the same time.

Words are unable to express the vibe, the emotions, the scene, the sound of last night's show.
Epic comes close, but it was that and a whole lot more!

So nice to meet you at dinner last night Effie! It was such a great way to start off our EPIC evening, especially with Lana & Rowland in attendance!

From what I saw live and the first hand reports and now listening to it on Sirius, all I can say is this show last night was the response some 40 plus years later to the Fillmore. Nice bookends if ya ask me............

still trying to comprehend what i witnessed last night and make some sense of it. An example of the whole being so much greater than the parts. Amazing individual talent just meant to jell together and bring out the best in each other. Also probably playing the best music to bring out their collective talent.

so lucky to have been there and sadly, the amazing Monday show which i also attended is a fading memory. as people get to listen to this show over and over again i think it will just get better and better. i cannot wait to sit down on a lousy winter saturday open a bottle or two of Pinot and turn up the volume.

listening to this band since my college days in 1969 and now the live shows are over. luckily we all have amazing memories and a lot of great music to listen to.

Thanks to Roland and Lana for all the presales which allowed me to get some great seats for amazing beacon shows at a fair price. And thanks to the Band for all the great moments and memories.

So glad to hear that the band went out hittin'' the note in style. Those of us who have encouraged the band to wrap it up after Derek and Warren leave just got a very strong argument in our favor.

Why would the band even open themselves up to disappointment by ever trying to top last night? I just don't see the point.

I'm a little surprised CanadianMule didn't try to convince everyone that last night's show wasn't really that long and/or good. Epic shows like that just don't happen, you know Smile I'm sure you were all on drugs or just have very vivid imaginations.

Important to mention, imho,Oteil played his best show as a member of the band last night.

Berry and Lamar had to look on proudly.

Still reeling from last night...our wonderful preshow fan dinner, the whole atmosphere...everyone knew it was special...its never felt that way at the Beacon in all the years there...feeling great joy,but sad too....seeing Gregg at the top of his game last night was a true highlight...he seemed so tired at the end...he deserves a lot of well needed rest...Duane had to be proud of his baby brother.

What a night....

I feel fortunate and blessed to have attended the last show of the ABB's legendary career. It was also my first Beacon show, despite having seen the band about 60 times since my first ABB show in '95. Here are my brief, collected thoughts that I have shared in other forums.

I told Alan Paul after the show that people can stop looking for the "holy grail" night prior to the Filmore East closing show, because this now might be that show. It really was amazing, so fortunate to have been able to see/hear it. Their performance took any of the sadness out of the event for me, because they went out on top, there is nothing left to do. I was kidding with my buddy, Josh, that I went to the show with. "...I think they just ruined me of all future music...they broke music tonight!" It was pure bliss, so proud for them. As Duane said "...jubilation," can't think of a better word than that to describe it. It was inspired and intense from beginning to end. They left nothing on the table. Echoing what Bill Graham said at the Filmore East "...it was not just quantity, but the quality of the music played." It was an amazing show that was a fitting end to the best damn band in the land!

Yes, epic, Effie! Good to see you at dinner on Tuesday. I'm listening to epic right now on Sirius. I signed up for a free trial month. I missed the beginning, hope to catch the 3rd go-round. Just heard the full Circle and into Mountain Jam right now. Epic! Smile

I think maybe I will spend the next several months listening to the first 5 October shows. Then
in March I will listen to the last show. I will have my own March madness celebration of the ABB.

A couple of words that come to my mind after having a couple of weeks to come back down to earth are fearless and legendary. The expectations were so high for this show, I hate to admit that I was a little worried I would walk away a little disappointed. But the band was absolutely fearless in the face of our expectations and went out and played a show for the ages. In my opinion, I saw a group of friends playing for themselves, each other, their fans, and 45 years of triumph, tragedy, and music history. Well done and a heartfelt thank you from this fan for all of the memories.
