Great to see Randall Bramlett, and one of my favorites - Dangermuffin - on the list.

These artist are all from a few similair/related genres...not a whole lot of diversity. It's probably just the top 100 that get played on this stations format. It's all subjective.

No one ever said it was a definitive list (if there is such a thing). It clearly states it was voted on by the listeners, most likely fans of the station's genre in the Carolinas. Just a list of great music is all.

For me, the best station in radio. And I live in Pittsburgh.

Beginning every Friday at 7:00, I listen to it exclusively through the weekend.

I have about half of these and really like the vast majority. Going to listen to the others as time allows.

Thanks because I haven't heard of some of these artists.

I agree with you both. I like the list. But other tastes may vary. No clue about the station but it is obviously tilted to a certain kind of genre.

Everything in Moderation. Including Moderation.

My buddy Martin works for this station and he's got damn good taste in music, although he and I differ greatly on what we listen to. I lived in Carolina for years and this list is rather indicative of a certain sub-culture. But yes, some great music on that list! And, much like a lot of people who don't understand the allure of Guy Clark, jr., I can't get into Iron and Wine! I keep trying but they bore me on many levels, although I have never seen them live. Sorry, just my opinion.

Isbell & 400 Unit got #1. I'm a huge fan. I like it and it's grown on me but I'd rank it last among his 6 studio albums.

His first 3 are criminally underappreciated. They were well thought of when they came out, but they now don't fit the narrative about his career getting on track after he got sober. He surely got a lot more popular after he got sober (and I'm sure manages his affairs much better among countless other career & life improvements), but he put out damn good music and put on great shows when he was a drinker.

I've gotten into Jason over the 2 years and have every album. All of his stuff is just great. It's a damn shame I'm late to the party as I have missed a few shows around here. He even played a freebie at the Dead Dog Saloon a few years back.

If you enjoy WNCW then I recommend WWOZ out of New Orleans. I think both are great. I'm not a huge bluegrass fan so I enjoy the WWOZ morning shows more!

Cool. I’ll give it a try.

If you like jazz WNCW has a cool true jazz show on Saturday mornings. New and old. Nice way to ease into the weekend.

A friend of mine swears by WMOT out of Nashville. I’ve checked it out, but it hasn’t done much for me.
